TMP 2000

Calling all outstanding pledges! Our three-year class gift pledge period is nearing its end. Please help TMP 2000 achieve 100 percent fulfillment on our class gift. Complete your pledge by Aug. 31!

Greetings TMP Class of 2000. Hello from freezing cold Chicago! Hopefully the snow will melt soon and we can get on with spring. Thanks to those of you who attended the Kellogg Christmas Party downtown. It was great reconnecting with so many of you!

Kellogg alums at holiday party
From left, Darin Prado TMP '00, John Tomaszewski '98, Jason Apple TMP '00, Tim Koch EMP-31 and Brett Hamilton TMP '01 reconnect at a Kellogg School holiday party.

Thanks to everyone for the great updates. If you don’t receive a quarterly reminder from yours truly about submitting Class Notes, perhaps your alumni email forwarding address isn’t set up. To do this, go to alumni.kellogg.northwestern.edu While you are there, be sure to sign up for the TMP Class of 2000 listserv.

On with the updates ... Jason Apple met up with Darin Prado and Brett Hamilton TMP ‘01on Dec. 2 at Houlihans downtown Chicago. All are doing well and in fact got together at the Kellogg Christmas party a few weeks later. There were too many alumni there to name them all, but it was especially good to reconnect with KACC President John Tomaszewski ‘98 and Tim Koch EMP-31.

Debbie Clasen has decided to leave the world of alliances consulting to join a wireless broadband start-up based in Bedminster, N.J., called Flarion Technologies, www.flarion.com. She and her husband Dave still enjoy racing their sailboat and running with their two dalmatians. Please contact Debbie at dclasen2000@kellogg.northwestern.edu if you’re a sailor looking to explore, or get back into, racing on Lake Michigan (or if you’d just like to catch up).

This quarter’s “Cool Kellogg alum” story goes to Sari (Rosenfeld) Winick, who after reading that Crunch Berries, one of the brands in her portfolio at Quaker, was my favorite cereal, kindly surprised me with a box of sweetened corn goodness on my doorstep! What a great surprise! Sari, you are hilarious. I am glad to have you as a neighbor! Hope Avi and Joshua are behaving!

Kellogg alums in Thailand
Jason Ewing TMP '00 and Jocelyn Hoffman astride an elephant during a trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand

Jason Ewing and his wife Jocelyn Hoffman visited Thailand and Cambodia in November. The pair relate that the two highlights of the trip were the ancient temples in Cambodia, especially Angkor Wat (one of the seven surviving wonders of the ancient world and the place used to film the movie “Tomb Raider”), and the elephants in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Jason writes, “The trip reminded us of the GIM trip to South Africa ─ though this time no paper was due when we returned.” Jason is employed as vice president with a boutique investment bank, Kinsella Group Inc., and Jocelyn is director of channel management at SBC.

Jim McPhail has been appointed to the Fred Hutchinson Business Alliance, a group of regional business leaders united in the fight against cancer. Members of the Fred Hutchinson Business Alliance assist in cultivating new supporters from many industry sectors. Jim is director of real estate for Home Depot’s northwest division.

Thanks again to everyone for the great updates! Keep them coming! Hope to see more of you at the TGIFs. Darin
