EMP-35

OK EMP-35, this is the news I received ... I hope no news is good news!

Bob Strickland writes from Florida with the news that his life has changed again. He moved to Tampa, Fla., where he accepted a position with WellCare Inc., a $1 billion company with business in New York and Connecticut, as well as Florida. WellCare is an HMO with government products (e.g. Medicaid, Medicare, CHIPS). Bob currently is interim senior vice president of operations, and vice president of business process improvement. Bob hopes all the members of EMP-35 are well.

Greg Brown writes that time is moving at hyper-speed for him! He just completed a successful three-year assignment as the general manager of one of his company’s (Kroger) largest manufacturing facilities. Now he’s leading a confidential project, and if he told us ... well, you know the rest of the saying. Aside from the secret project, he is the general manager of the grocery division, which, despite the title, remains a predominantly manufacturing-oriented assignment. The company is projected to exceed the $1 billion-dollar mark in sales again this year, even with the ongoing strikes out West. Greg hopes his note finds everyone well.

Nick Cray tells us that he always enjoys reading the latest updates from the EMP-35 group. Nick has relocated to Wisconsin, where he began a new job in Janesville in January. He is vice president of operations for Rath Manufacturing Co., a manufacturer of stainless, duplex and nickel alloy tubing and pipe for use in food, dairy, pharmaceutical, and process industries. The family is very excited about this new opportunity, although they are sad to leave the Chicago area, and will be relocating to the Madison area by summer. They vow to wear their Cubs and NU gear proudly in the new neighborhood, and expect to return regularly to visit family and friends. Nick asks us to wish his family good luck! We send our best wishes with them!

Curtis Miller, Marybeth Gerrity and Tom Fitzsimons all send their best wishes, but tell us that nothing is new with them!
