1999
Betsy and Brett Olson are
proud to announce the birth of their son, Brooks William,
born in London on Oct. 16.
Gary Krieger and Tracie Ledsky Krieger TMP ‘00 celebrated the first birthday
of their daughter Charlotte Ellen last October. Gary, Tracie
and Charlotte took a trip to Yosemite last year as well. Gary actually led the KOA trip in ‘98 to Yosemite, so
now instead of leading Kellogg students, he gets to go
on adventures with his family!
The Kriegers are living in the
Bay area, where they see Michael and Winnie Carpenter quite
a bit. They have also celebrated the arrival of Adam Blackman
with Stacy Sukov Blackman and her husband Uri. Tracie
is now a stay-at-home mom after leaving her job of five
years at Cosmopolitan magazine. She says, “Motherhood
is the best!”
Susan Morrow Bell and husband Sam were joined by their son Solomon in October.
He was welcomed home by their overly energetic dog, and
the family is happy to report the two are getting along
very well. All are enjoying life in Seattle. Susan will return to work soon ─ sad to leave Solly
during the days ─ but very happy in product management
for Precor, where she continues to oversee the commercial
line of fitness equipment.
Daniel J. Williams has joined Bank of America’s private bank in New York, where he is responsible for managing the financial needs
of high-net-worth individuals, families and small institutions.
Dan and his wife Kristen enjoy living and working in New York, and recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary.
Dan also serves as president of the Kellogg Alumni Club
of New York and as a board member of the Marquette Club
of New York.
Jamie Witt and
wife Jill will be getting ready to celebrate the second
birthday of their beautiful baby daughter, Lauren Elizabeth,
in June.
Caty Supper and
Matt Fortuin ‘00 were married Nov. 1 in Chatham,
Mass. Kelloggians from the class of ‘99 attending
included Nicole Ginsburg Small, Kelly McClenahan
Alpert, Pam Skonicki, Dee Binning Muir, Krista
Edlund Gallagher, Annika Lane, Peter Jarman, Brett
Huff, Matt Ottmer, Charlie Schewe, Brent
Burns and Erin Gershon. Also in attendance were
Eric Brown ‘00, Pat Brubaker ‘00, Dan Cohen ‘00,
Derek and Pam Gerow ‘97, Peter Krawiec ‘00,
Roland Jarquio ‘00, Adam Koopersmith ‘00, Greg
Myers ‘00, Emily Gellady Rakowski ‘00, Zach ‘00 and
Barb Taylor.
Eric Ranta and
Euni Kown ‘00 married at Treasure Island, Calif., on Nov. 29. An impressive Class of 2000 turnout included
Veena Rau, Bill Nowakowski, Allison Don, Ky Vu,
Emily Gellady, Sara Rutstein, Liz Oh, Dora Lee and Ben
Huang. Other 2000 grads in attendance included Michelle
Arnau and Jon Cho, who got in a dance fever/”Zoolander”-esque
dance-off, and John Rakowski, who threw in the worm! Class
of ‘99ers at the celebration included Molly and Stanton
McComb, Brad Sills, Paul Midura and Brent
Burns. Life for Eric and Euni has regained normalcy.
They now share a condo with their dog Moxie right across
the street from Pacific Bell Park in San
Francisco.
Nicha and Paul Ark recently
celebrated their second wedding anniversary, as well as
their first year of living in the same country! In the
four and a half years they’ve known each other, they’ve
only been in the same country about one-third of the time,
but have finally settled down in Bangkok. Paul is on his fourth (!) post-Kellogg job. He is currently
an associate director with Imprimis Limited, a boutique
investment bank focused on Southeast
Asia. Nicha and Paul also spent the end of the summer vacationing
in the United States, visiting friends and family in San Francisco, Los
Angeles, Sonoma, Las
Vegas,
and enjoying a Berkeley football game.
Laney and Juan Altamar recently
welcomed their second son, Noah Sebastian, although a little
earlier (19 days!) than planned. Juan writes: “Noah
was born Jan. 9 at 1:24 p.m., weighing in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and measuring 20 inches.
Fortunately, all went well considering the speed at which
he came ─ 25 minutes from start to finish! Let’s
put it this way, Laney was giving a presentation at work
and finally left the office at 12:15 (do the math). Needless to say, things were not entirely
in order at work, home, etc.!
“Most importantly though,
everyone is happy and healthy. Noah has been extremely
kind to us, in terms of both sleep and disposition, and
his brother Nico could not have adjusted to the new member
of the family any better. Perhaps only Lollie (our English
bulldog) remains confused about how wonderful this change
has been and doesn’t share in our excitement for
what the future holds.”
Joyce Yao and
Tony Cullen had a baby girl Jan. 22 named Summer Yao Cullen. |
