Hey,
classmates. Isn’t
it fun to read these updates to find out what others are
up to? Why don’t you take a moment and send me an
email to bring the rest of us up-to-date on your lives,
too?
Since graduating, Jeff Russell and
his wife Michelle have moved from Chicago to Sacramento, Calif.; to South
Bend, Ind.; to Eugene, Ore.; to their present home in Ashland, Ohio. Nine years ago, after working for nine different banks,
Jeff quit commercial banking to go back to school to earn
a PhD in economics at the University of Oregon in Eugene. In 2000 he began a tenure-track position at Ashland University. Jeff reports that he loves the flexibility of academia,
which is partially offset by a full teaching load, full-time
research, and committee meetings the rest of the time.
One critical benefit, he reports, is that he gets to work
on his back porch in his bathrobe.
After
more than 20 years, Jeff says that his memories of Kellogg
are getting fuzzy, although
he recalls “Beers for Bullets,” late-night
pizza-and-beer missions somehow involving Russ Greer’s
tires, and helping to write the Special K Revue. Jeff would
be glad to hear from classmates at jrussell@ashland.edu.
