The Rev. Richard A. Cheu ‘67 completed the Catholic Church’s deacon formation program in May and was ordained a deacon by Bishop John Smith of the Diocese of Trenton, N.J. Rev. Cheu writes: “I am assigned to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Highlands, N.J., on the Jersey Shore. My wife and I reside in Fair Haven, a short distance from Highlands. As a deacon my duties include performing baptisms, weddings and funeral services; assisting at Mass; and preaching and servicing the needs of parishioners. Prior to becoming a deacon, I was a ‘wandering minstrel,’ serving as a cantor at various parishes, including a 10-year stint at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City.”

George Connelly ‘67 is head of Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s tax controversy and litigation section. Texas Lawyer and Texas Monthly bestowed George with the title of “Super Lawyer” among Texas tax lawyers for 2003.
