Why the Silence on Vertical Price Restraints?

Vertical price restraint enforcement is a vexing problem for those companies doing business in the United States; part of the problem is the patchwork state laws that often times conflict with federal law on the subject ( under Section 1 of the Sherman Act). The article questions why this patchwork system should exist and offers regulators a chance to make these laws uniform.
