From the Technology Cycle to the Entrepreneurship Dynamic: The Social Context of Entrepreneurial Innovation
Author(s)
The article shows (1) that new technologies open up entrepreneurial opportunities and (2) that social context determines to a considerable extent the level of entrepreneurial activity. It argues that the literature on dominant designs will benefit from bringing the social context into the analytic framework. It provides some evidence that a macro-sociological approach to entrepreneurship promises to put entrepreneurship research on a more solid conceptual footing.
