Evolution, Learning, and Economic Behavior

Reinhard Selten (1930-2016) received the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Science in 1994 and is a professor of economics at the University of Bonn, where he has been teaching since 1984. He holds a master's degree in mathematics from the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt (1957) and a doctorate in mathematics from Frankfurt University (1961). He received his habilitation for economics at Frankfurt University (1968).

Professor Selten has previously taught at Frankfurt University, the University of California-Berkeley, The Free University of Berlin, and the University of Bielefeld. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and a member of the Northrhine-Westfalian Academy of Sciences. He has served on the editorial boards of several game theory and economics journals and has been the chief editor of the International Journal of Game Theory. Professor Seiten's research interests are in the areas of game theory, oligopoly theory, and experimental economics. He is author of 4 books and more than 60 articles in these areas.
