Sarah’s Circle

KEWN will provide hot meals for fifty women at Sarah's Circle on Saturday, October 19th and Sunday, October 20th. Sarah's Circle serves women affected by homelessness in Chicago. Volunteers are needed to prepare and deliver food in advance, and a small group of nine volunteers is required on-site each day to serve and clean.

Lumberjacks at Canal Shores Golf Course

This is a great opportunity to show your support for both Kellogg and the Canal Shores Golf Course. We'll be joining the Lumberjacks, a local organization that manages the woodlands and trails around the course to work on improvements to the local ecology (and we'll have plenty of knowledge on hand to help teach kids about our local ecology and why this work is important). Also, when registering, please confirm whether or not you'll join us for a wrap-up/networking lunch at American Legion Post 42 (just above the course clubhouse) for pizza and refreshments.

Kellogg DFW Alumni Club is excited to partner with CCA on Kellogg Cares Day to prepare the modular classroom spaces for the students and staff and to spruce up the neighborhood park adjoining the school.
Come and help put together storage shelves, unpack boxes, and set up the library, kitchen, and classrooms. If you're handy, we would love your help hanging the window blinds. If outdoors are more your jam, we will be cleaning up a playground and park area on the same block as the school.
We will be gathering for lunch afterwards for all who are hungry!

Please join us on Saturday, October 12, 2024, for Kellogg Cares Day! We will be supporting the Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group by restoring the shores of the Green-Duwamish River one week after Orca Recovery Day. Local resident Orcas depend on healthy salmon populations for their diet. Removing invasive plants and planting native plants along river banks is one way to help salmon populations thrive! Tree canopy along rivers provides shade to keep the water cool and tree roots keep soil in place to prevent erosion from clouding the water.

The Rail Corridor is a unique green space that encompasses former railway tracks that once connected Singapore and Malaysia. It has been transformed into a beautiful and accessible recreational trail, offering a glimpse into Singapore's natural heritage. We will work to help augment the habitat enhancement works along the Rail Corridor South. We will be undertaking Soil Prep and Tree Planting of carefully-selected trees suitable for the habitat, and thereafter undertaking Sapling Protection Action to give tender loving care to these tree saplings.
