When working professionals join the Kellogg Evening & Weekend MBA Program, they can choose from an array of electives and pathways that help them focus on their future path in business.

But no matter the industry, they’ll need the leadership skills to envision new opportunities, bring together a team and achieve new heights. The Kellogg Leadership Journey (KLJ) is a special three-part program that helps students understand who they are as leaders, where they want to go and how they’re going to get there.

Fortune magazine recently spoke to several students in the program, which consists of an orientation, a leadership retreat and a capstone immersion day.

“Before, I never really understood the power of my story,” current student and KLJ participant Chieke Offurum ’23 told Fortune. Originally from Nigeria, Offurum moved to the US for a master’s degree in geology, and is pursuing an MBA at Kellogg to further his career in the oil and gas industry. “I used to talk more about my American story, but I realized that wasn’t truly me—I have a lot of Nigerian stories, too, to tell. I realized the power of telling my full story, not just my American story.”

Read the full story in Fortune to meet Offurum and his classmates Alexandra Krall ’22 and Hannah Archarya ’22 and to learn more about how KLJ is enhancing their leadership skills.
