Wendy Thompson
Wendy Thompson, lost her battle with breast cancer and passed away 6 August 2019. Wendy was one of the few women amongst the original “techies”, who wrote “miles and miles and miles of code” for Cray Computer. After graduating from Kellogg, Wendy did a stint in financial services, working at Bankers Trust in New York for Kellogg Alumnae Margot Hopper ’82 who recalls that Wendy’s “serious game face hid a wicked sense of humor and cleverly stated observations about human nature.” But alas, the tech industry called Wendy’s name again; she moved to Silicon Valley (bought a convertible) and was one of the first employees at Peoplesoft. She was with Peoplesoft until the company was acquired by Oracle and continued for some time post the acquisition. After that, she held various Senior Marketing and Product Management positions. Most recently she was Senior Director of Strategy for a cloud-based solution management product at SAP. Kind. Generous. Gregarious. Tenacious. These are just some of the adjectives used by her fellow classmates to describe Wendy. Classmate Chip Bailey will fondly remember the 15+ years of celebrating Thanksgiving together with his family where Wendy’s Minnesota wild rice along with Cakebread Chardonnay were – traditionally – THE meal on Thanksgiving-eve. She is survived by her mother and father, Lynn and Roger Thompson of North Carolina, as well as her brother, sister-in-law and niece: Tim, Jae and Hannah Thompson of Wisconsin, respectively.

Peter Frank
With sadness, Group J reports the passing of groupmate Peter Frank. Peter died quietly on September 13 in the care of his family. Group J visited with him shortly before and recalled the Kellogg experience that brought and has kept them together. His intellect, insight and humor during late-night study sessions ensured that Group J was the best.
