Alumni Club of Los Angeles

Earlier this year, the Kellogg Alumni Club of L.A. decided that they needed to reach out to and engage with a new population of alumni who may never have attended alumni events in the past. With this goal in mind, current president Cyndy de Nuno ’77 enlisted Michael Benayoun ’07 to spearhead a program that would contribute to the club’s goal of reaching out to more than 120 alumni this year. With the challenge of a spread out metropolitan area like Los Angeles, they decided to create a program that would allow alumni to meet in an informal setting at a local restaurant to establish a neighborly and more personal feel with the Kellogg Alumni Club of L.A.

The club initially started the Neighborhood Dinner program in March with five distinct L.A. neighborhoods: Westside, South Bay, Valley, Pasadena and Downtown. The program has been hugely successful and allowed them to establish a base of engaged local alums as well as consistently bring alumni from different backgrounds and ages. Some of the restaurants included in the September outing were Il Grano in West L.A. and The Fish Bar in Manhattan Beach.
