Alumni Club of Dallas/Fort Worth
On June 25, the Kellogg and Northwestern DFW alumni clubs went to the ballpark to see the defending (and now repeat!) AL Champion Texas Rangers. As with most of the summer in Dallas, it was a brutally hot day, but thankfully the clubs were seated in a shaded area. Lots of fun was had by all and we saw many new faces who haven’t been to club events in a long time (if ever!).
The Kellogg-DFW club held a “Welcome to Dallas” happy hour on July 28 for new interns and recent grads at Sfuzzi in uptown Dallas. We had a solid turnout (nearly 30) although we were missing Nelson Hsu ’99, our VP of social events, as he and his wife Kim were welcoming their baby Kai Alexander earlier that day.
On Aug. 20, the Kellogg and NU-DFW alumni clubs hosted the sixth annual Summer Soiree benefitting Big Brothers/Big Sisters of North Texas at the House of Blues in Dallas. The soiree, which drew over 170 attendees, has grown to become one of the biggest alumni association social events in the DFW area. This year, the clubs jointly managed to raise an incredible $28,000 for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, a 70 percent increase from 2010.
