EMP-4

EMP-4 is seeking new leadership. Please contact kworld@kellogg.northwestern.edu. You may also send your updates to that address.

Rich DeGregorio writes: “EMP-4 was one of the first groups to get through that very trying program. I would be interested to know how any of our graduates have done.

“I was able to successfully reach the position of CEO for a privately-held company in South Texas. It was a family-run business that was looking for new perspective and leadership. We grew that business ten-fold over a period of 18-plus years. It was basically local in production and product sales. Today (although I have been retired for nine years), it is international in sales and production.

“The company is a food manufacturer that produces products under its own brands and also produces products for private label retail and food service. With the training and education we received at Northwestern, I was able to establish a team that initiated research, production management, quality assurance and control, accounting systems, financial groups/banks, manufacturing resource planning, new information systems and technology, distribution and activity-based costing, customer service teams and marketing a sales growth consistent with our customer base and targeted markets.

“We had a great time and success and at times, stressful implementation. I’m glad I was prepared; I’m glad I did it! I was equally glad to retire and pass it on to the next generation. I hope others in our class had similar and fun experiences. Would enjoy hearing from you. Contact me at rdegregorio@sbcglobal.net.”
