We hope that everyone enjoyed their summer! We can’t believe our 10-year reunion is just around the corner. You will start to see more information on the reunion very soon. Now for the latest news!

Ross Nelson and Jennifer Benesh announce the birth of their son, Richard “Vann,” on July 27. Vann is doing great and big sister Avery (4) is enjoying the new addition to the family. Ross works for the health practice and Booz & Co. They live in St. Charles, Ill., and welcome the opportunity to hear from other classmates. You can contact him at rossrnelson@yahoo.com.

Alex Bergmann writes: “My wife Wenqi and I welcomed twins Veronika and Brahm on April 23. They join older brother Max (2). We’re in Short Hills, N.J. where I’m a principal with KKR’s Fisher Capital affiliate. We would love to hear from other Kellogg alums in the area.”

Kate Solomon launched Babo Botanicals in Buy Buy Baby and announced the birth of Solomon August Wasserman on May 19. Kate now juggles managing her startup and three small children!

Greg Harmeyer writes: “I’m happily settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, with Kay and our four children. Also. we are happy to report that our company, TiER1 Performance Solutions was named to the Inc. 5000 for the fifth straight year. We provide learning, talent, and change management solutions for large organizations. One of the areas we’re growing rapidly in is Chicago so any interested Kellogg alumni interested should check us out.”

Ana Villegas had baby girl Audrey Villegas Laphen on June 17 in Austin, Texas.

Vito Iaia took a new position this past spring with startup company Federated Sports + Gaming as an executive vice president. He is still based in L.A., and actually took over the exact former Ticketmaster offices in West Hollywood where he spent the past seven years. Their first show “Epic Poker” is debuting on CBS this fall, so please tune in!

Pam Lu updates us on some exciting news: “My husband and I had a trip to San Diego where we attended Tiffany Schad’s promotion ceremony aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan. She was selected for captain more than a year and a half ago during her recent assignment as supply officer of
the USS Ronald Reagan, whose taskings included two deployments and providing humanitarian assistance in Operation Tomodachi following the catastrophe in Japan earlier this year.

“As of Sept. 19, she’s officially ‘Captain Schad’ with the stripes to prove it. About 80 family, friends, and naval officers were in attendance. She now has a new assignment as assistant chief of staff for logistics for the Pacific Surface Fleet — making sure that all surface ships (other than aircraft carriers) in the entire Pacific fleet have what they need, when they need it. No pressure or anything!

“Tiffany also showed off horsepower of a different sort with her brand spanking new Mustang GT convertible that she picked up earlier this summer with our buddy, TJ Karl. It turned out that we missed him by a month on a rare return trip from Shanghai. TJ is vice president of marketing operations for Range Rover/Jaguar’s China division. I’m taking bets that Tiffany makes admiral before retiring. She’ll need the pay bump to cover all those Coronado speeding tickets for going over 25 mph!

“And if anyone is ever in the Philly/Wilmington area visiting Longwood Gardens, we’re just a few steps away — literally across the street. Come visit!”

On more of a personal note, Natalie (Guenther) was remarried July 9 in Cape Cod, Mass. Her husband, Gardie Jackson, is as avid as Natalie when it comes to racing, having spent the last 20 years as a competitive bike racer. Natalie and Gardie are settling into life (for the moment!) in the Bay Area with their Weimaraner, Kenya. Natalie competed in the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii for the second time on Oct. 8.
