K.C. Buckley Mercé, husband Fernando and their two boys (Sebastían, 8 and Coleman, 5) have just returned to the United States after living in Montreux, Switzerland, for the last several years. Now residing in St. Louis, K.C. continues to work at Oracle Corporation as vice president, product management. Fernando has returned to Nestlé-Purina as president, Latin America. The Mercés look forward to reconnecting with fellow alumni in the area.
Paul Fichter and wife Linnea welcomed their second child in July. Also, Taphandles, a beer marketing company that Paul founded in 1999, closed its first capital raise this year and birthed new factories in Seattle and Chicago. Taphandles ranked on the 2011 Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies for its fourth time.
Since finishing the resoundingly successful campaign to reject a new voting system for Britain, NO to AV, Charlotte Vere has decided to continue her career in politics. Charlotte has launched a new think tank Women On … (womenon.org), which will transform the debate around women. Charlotte comments, “We will research new ideas and policies targeted at women, and will focus on the concept of ‘true equality’ — that equality is not about absolute numbers, but a natural equilibrium, and that we can release the potential of women, but not at the expense of men.” Over recent weeks, Charlotte has appeared across the media in the U.K. and is looking forward to getting women back on the political agenda.
Stephanie Hanson and husband Adam Kaplan own a boys summer camp in northwestern Wisconsin called Camp Nebagamon. Camp Nebagamon was established in 1929 and, after three previous directors, they are thrilled to be carrying on the traditions and legacy of the camp. Indeed, Stephanie’s husband went to Camp Nebagamon as a boy, and purchasing the camp was a dream fulfilled. You can find more information at campnebagamon.com.
David Henry is a senior vice president with CB Richard Ellis and in July, he orchestrated the sale of Parsons’ corporate headquarters in Pasadena, Calif. The 23-acre campus was sold to Lincoln Property Company for $320 million, making it the largest office sale in Los Angeles County since the peak of the market in 2007. He thanks entrepreneurial classmates Dave Garcia, Ike Kawanabe, Sean Kraus, Kevin Pate and Patricia Schneider for encouraging him to pursue a career in real estate.
Antonio Puron sends greetings from sunny and lively Mexico City, where he continues to enjoy life to the fullest. He has been a partner at the leading executive search firm Egon Zehnder International for more than six years now. Wow, time flies. On the personal front, Antonio and Adriana welcomed the newest addition to the family, Patricio (Pato) Puron. They will now be strong contributors to the Kellogg soccer MBA team with three future stars! Antonio continues to play competitive soccer, even at this old age. He has also been quite active with the Kellogg community, which hosted Dean Sally Blount in a great alumni event in Mexico City during the summer. They look forward to reuniting with good friends early next year in Evanston. Cheers!
