EMP-64

The summer flew by and it was back to work for most of EMP-64, so busy was our class that many didn’t even have time to write an update — but many have made promises for the next edition of Kellogg World!

However, a few classmates have indeed kept us up to date on the latest and greatest, supplemented by some corporate press releases!

Svein Floden contributes: “I am back in New York with the two kids, Aksel (3) and Nicolas (7 months). Still at DB and always on the lookout for opportunity!” Svein, I will be seeking a picture next, but welcome back to the Big Apple!

Wesley McDermott writes, “…finishing the summer season with a refreshingly chilly two-week camping tour around Lake Superior in September (our boys are home-schooled). I am involved with a small group of entrepreneurs and investors on two interesting business plans (one of each kind: medical and non-medical <grin>) to exercise my business brain.” Glad to hear all is well, Wesley — we are just wondering if this is going to lead to you being a serial entrepreneur?

Mitch Meyers enjoyed a night out camping with an Indian Princess and Guide earlier this summer. It was a great experience on a cold night. Cole is 8 now and Lauren is 6. He wonders where did the years go since we started EMP? No more diapers, more gray hair, responsibility … and they call this fun?

Kevin Peters was named Office Depot’s president, North American retail in April. Kevin joined the company as executive vice president of the supply chain in October 2007 and was appointed executive vice president, supply chain and information technology in March 2009. Congratulations Kevin, keep up the great work!

John Potter formally announces the arrival of Owen Jacob Potter, born on July 18, joining Will (5) and Caroline (2) in the Potter household. Further he writes, “We moved to Edina, Minn., in November as I transferred with PwC to grow the M&A practice in that market.” Congratulations, John, on your addition as well as the move!

Thanks all and we look forward to many more contributions for the next edition!
