EMP-53

Kaivalya Rawal has been deep in the books again and is on an educational sabbatical, attending law school at the University of New York School of Law. He graduated in December with a litigation major in labor and employment law. He is glad to end the once-a-week commute between New York and Illinois. So long to those frequent flyer miles. Congratulations Kaivalya …. soon to be MBA and JD. We look forward to a doctoral-cap-and-gown photo for the spring update!

Another esteemed classmate, Santosh Padki, and his wife Kalea welcomed their third child, a baby girl, on Aug. 7. The newest baby, Avani Sanjana, follows older siblings Anjali (4) and Kürn (2). The Padki family has been in Chapel Hill, N.C. for six years. Although they don’t miss the Chicago winters, they do very much miss their Chicago-area Kellogg friends.

Earlier this year, Deepak Mital and his son Karna visited Santosh and family in Chapel Hill. Deepak’s son, now a senior at Duke University in neighboring Durham, is a very good “super big brother” to the Padki kids. Santosh and Kalea extend a hearty invitation to anyone visiting the Raleigh/Durham/ Chapel Hill region. (Just come prepared to babysit!) Beautiful family, Santosh and Mital!

Uma Murty didn’t have any special updates but she says hello to everyone! Uma is still with Motorola as a senior director, having fun with technology and business.
