Earl Furfine EMP-42 completed his first full Ironman in Louisville, Ky.

EMP-42

John Angelella and his family moved last year from Moorestown, N.J. back to Allentown, Pa., where their business is located. They purchased a small manufacturing business four years ago and transformed it into a more complete bath products company. They have more offerings for their independent dealers, which has positioned them to weather the economic storm better than others. A new product that they rolled out two years ago for tiling showers is doing well and is also picking up business at national retailers.

John and his family also welcomed an addition to their family, Azlynn — the new family puppy!

Sonny Bal continues to have a busy 2010 and is now taking flying lessons!

Earl Furfine achieved a great accomplishment! He completed his 29th triathlon on Aug. 29 and his first full Ironman in Louisville, Ky. Earl said it was 96 degrees and the race had a 25 percent dropout rate, so he was happy just to get across the finish line! Congratulations, Earl!

Steve Guse is back in the States and living in Naperville, Ill. He is now CFO of ElectroMotive Diesels. Welcome back to the States, Steve!

Also received news from Gopal Lalmalani. He is still practicing medicine and cardiology but now venturing into politics! He is running for president of Oak Brook, Ill., where he has lived for over 20 years. Election day is April 5, but the campaign has already begun! Any Kellogg alums in Oak Brook are encouraged to volunteer, provide input and VOTE! Check out more information at CitizensforGopal.com.

Mahesh Rao finished writing a business transformation book, which is scheduled for publication in January. More details to follow.

Bob Stein is very involved in the San Diego Kellogg Alumni Club and helps members with networking, business deals, career issues, etc. He is finding this work to be very fun and rewarding! Bob is also an entrepreneur in residence with CONNECT.org, coaching and mentoring high-tech (such as life sciences, software, wireless, consumer products and active sports) entrepreneurs in San Diego. He helps these individuals secure funding and start up their businesses.

As a practicing entrepreneur, Bob is also in the start-up phase of his own new company, delivering guest entertainment technologies to large, high-end resorts and hotels around the world. His company installed its first location at a resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I am sure we will hear of more successes from Bob in future editions of Kellogg World!

Kris Zimmer also shares a great accomplishment! He participated in a race in Baja Mexico. He, along with his three sons, raced more than 500 miles across the desert, through the mountains and on the beach. He reported that it was “five days of pure adrenaline!” Congratulations, Kris!
