EMP-25
Harry Johns, president and CEO of the Chicago-based national Alzheimer’s Association, rode into the Thompson Center as part of the Alzheimer’s Breakthrough Ride on Sept. 2. The Breakthrough Ride featured more than 55 Alzheimer’s disease researchers riding relay-style from San Francisco to D.C. to raise awareness of the disease and make it a national priority. Along the way, Harry and the researchers collected petition signatures that will be presented to Congress on World Alzheimer’s Day. The Breakthrough Ride has already received such overwhelming support that organizers have doubled the petition signature goal from 50,000 to 100,000.
