Ruth Piepgras Zekowski published her second book, Spare Them? No Profit. Remove Them? No Loss, co-authored by Chhalith Ou. This memoir — of a young Cambodian teenager who was separated from his parents at 13 — tells the story of the remarkable courage and resilience of a boy learning to survive during the Khmer Rouge Communist regime from 1975 to 1979. Zekowski led a team that helped to resettle more than 100 refugees who had escaped to the Khao-I-Dang Holding Center in Thailand before coming to the United States.
