2003 — Part-Time

Ravi Kaushik has been busy launching new LED lighting products in his product management and marketing role at GE Lighting Solutions. Ravi manages a $40 MM P&L with a group of product managers and a marketing team specifically focused on growing the retail display LED lighting segment. Large retailers, like Wal-Mart and Target, are adopting LED lighting for refrigerated display cases and parking-lot lighting to leverage the energy and maintenance savings that these products offer them. On the personal front, Ravi and Peeru have a baby boy who is keeping them busy in Cleveland, Ohio.

Susan Quinlan Lewinski, husband Kurt and son Ryan welcomed their second son, Alex James “AJ” Lewinski, on May 12.

Anne Prasse and husband Dale welcomed Cole Richard Prasse (6 pounds, 6 ounces and 19 inches) and Phoebe Elizabeth Prasse (5 pounds, 4 ounces, 17.5 inches). They were born Sept. 1 at 6:06 and 6:07 a.m. respectively. Everyone is now home and doing well.

Sunil Kulkarni submitted the following update: “I was on a trekking and hiking trip in the interior Himalayan mountains to visit ‘AUM’ Parvat (Mountain) and Adi Kailash through KMVNL, a state government of Uttarakh and enterprise which conducts organized tours to these locations. On this 19-day-and-20-night tour, we trekked and hiked the distance of 220 miles to the heights of 16,500 feet. KMVNL organized the camps very well for night stays and vegetarian food at different locations. Once we crossed Dharchula, the base camp, our communication with the outside world was virtually cut off as our cell phones stopped operating, making this a perfect vacation for next 18 days! The environment was so serene and peaceful with massive valleys created by tall snow-clad mountains and gushing water from the melting glaciers. It was a perfect setting for meditating. Little did I know that this experience would give me the spiritually enhancing experience that I was aspiring for without realizing it.” Sunil writes more about the trip in the online version of Class Notes.

Bo Sandine moved to gorgeous Durango, Colo., to become the senior product marketing manager at Mercury Payment Systems. MPS (mercurypay.com) is a payment processor that conducts over $15 billion annually in transactions for businesses in the U.S. and Canada. It handles and secures credit, debit, check, gift card and loyalty processing and enhances point-of-sale systems. Bo is responsible for the outbound marketing of Mercury’s products and services. The piéce de résistance is that his sister, Lisa, and her family live in Durango! Bo is thrilled to play this key position for a smart, rapidly growing company, while getting to live near family in beautiful southwestern Colorado.

Rodneyse Bichotte is the newly elected New York State committeewoman district leader for the 42nd Assembly District in Brooklyn, N.Y. Rodneyse made history in the city of New York by being the first Haitian-American woman to be elected ever. The New York Daily News and Crain’s New York Journal was quoted as saying Bichotte was “a face to watch in Brooklyn politics” after unseating the incumbent of 18 years in a three-way race. Rodneyse attributes her victory partly to the marketing techniques learned at Kellogg. Rodneyse is also a director at the American Express mergers and acquisitions group and proudly continues to serve her community every day after work.
