2002
Kudos again to the Class of 2002 for sending so many great updates! Keep them coming!
Mary Anne (McConnel) and Brian Ericson ’04 welcomed William “Will” to the world on Jan. 28. To quote from Mary Anne: “He is a total Energizer bunny. He completely refuses to sit still — the second you put him on the ground, he immediately assumes the crawl position and goes sprinting across the floor.”
Baby news from the Dallas home of Tarik Rodgers and Tanya Reddick Rodgers: “On May 17, we welcomed our happy baby boy, Camden Edward Rodgers. Grandparents are extremely excited as he is the first grandson on either side. His biggest accomplishment to date is swimming in our pool and really kicking his legs and paddling his arms. Tarik hopes to have Cam scuba-diving with him by age 7. OK, maybe that’s pushing it. As of this writing, Cam is sleeping through the night, which makes both Mommy and Daddy very happy!”
Albert Hwang proves that he is still living by the idea of “go big or go home.” Within a month late this past summer, he got married, moved to New York and started a new job as vice president of Prestige Brands, running all of their OTC brands.
Ana Villegas caught up with Glenn ’03 and Rachael Coleman in Singapore while she was traveling for work.
Sami Habbab is still in Istanbul, Turkey, managing the family business on oil logistics (Delta Petrol), and welcomes any classmates traveling to that part of the world. He and his wife Esra are being kept busy by their daughter Esma (1).
Charity and Jeff Bechtel welcomed their first child into the world in April, a beautiful baby girl named Mia. Jeff shares: “We enjoyed every minute we spent with her this summer while Charity was on maternity leave and I was in ‘early retirement’ mode. But now it’s back to work for both of us. In August, I became a partner at boutique investment bank Mitchell Hartley Advisers, which provides M&A advisory and capital-raising services to the global investment management industry, and Charity returned to her position as an analytical chemist at Genentech.”
Megan (Ainsworth) and Jay Marine proudly announce the arrival of Mary Eva (“Molly”) Marine. Molly was born on June 17, weighing in at 8 pounds even and completing the Marine girl trifecta. Big sisters Kate and Sarah are delighted with the new addition to the family. Megan is loving her career as a stay-at-home mom in Seattle, and Jay is entering his ninth year at Amazon, where he continues to enjoy working on the Kindle business. On that note, Jay would like everyone to know that the Kindle makes a great holiday gift. :)
Dani and Catherine (Brown) Barron are settled in Northbrook with their kids, including their third little girl, Dayla, whom they welcomed in June.
Vicki Vasseur writes “It seems like time has flown since graduation. After taking a year off to travel, Arnaud and I moved back to Paris five years ago. I am still with ZS Associates but my role has evolved quite a bit. Post Kellogg, I started on the consulting side but then decided to switch over to HR. Prior to the birth of my second child (Alexandre, 4, and Juliette, 1), I was the HR manager for the European offices. However, the travel and the workload were just way too much with two kids, and I have now switched to a part-time HR initiatives role working directly with global headquarters. We had a fantastic summer vacation in Italy!”
Betraying his better judgment, Patrick Ku is now the father of two Kus (I hope you all appreciate the rhyme!). James came along to join the family on June 30. Best of luck to James!
Thank you Raphael Savalle for the very efficient three-years-in-one-paragraph update: “We relocated with Unilever from Chicago to Rye, N.Y. William (3) was born three months after our arrival, joining the fun with his brothers Louis and Edouard. I left Unilever and the Dove Brand and joined the Bel Group as CFO and head of supply chain for the Bel Americas Region two years ago. We manufacture and sell ‘The Laughing Cow,’ ‘Mini Babybel’ and ‘Boursin’ cheese, among others. My job has two great treats as I get to fly back to Chicago regularly and get to meet Kellogg alums (sometimes in Evanston) as well as take frequent business trips to Paris. I work out of Manhattan and we always look forward to and enjoy visits from Kellogg friends like Steve Vernelen. I also started running and I have completed the Paris Marathon, the New York Marathon and the Continental Grand Prix (a series of five half-marathon around New York). I am now looking forward to the reunion in 2012!”
Marjan Oman and family had been living in Zurich, Switzerland. After having just gotten used to cowbells and raclette, they are now moving to flatter terrain in Munich, where Marjan will take a global sales position with Amer Sports. All Kellogg alumni in the Munich area are invited to contact Marjan.
Enjoy a great fall everyone!
