1994
Hope all is well with the Class of 1994! Thanks to Jerry and Paula Burris for starting us off with a great update. In Jerry’s own words: “It has finally taken us 15 years to submit an update on our professional and personal lives, so here you go. After 20 years with General Electric Company, I left my position as president and CEO of advanced materials quartz and ceramics to assume the position of segment president in the Barnes Group (aerospace, automotive and industrial segments) in Hartford, Conn. I was also elected to serve as a director for Minneapolis-based Pentair Corporation. After 10-plus years of working at GE (capital, medical, appliances in finance, marketing and business development), Paula is holding the position of president and CEO of the Burris household (smile). Most people in our sections (68 and 64), and certainly in the BMA, remember our toddler Jarret (18) and our baby Ashlee (16). Paula actually delivered Ashlee in the winter quarter of our second year and still mustered the energy to complete her midterms and start the interviewing process.”

Paul Ciampa writes that he and his Mary and three kids (Charlie, Francesca and Angelina) moved from N.Y. to Boston in 2008. The move was prompted by an offer from Convexity Capital, an investment firm started by Jack Meyer and the fixed income team from the Harvard Endowment. Prior to joining Convexity, Paul was working for Barclays in N.Y. He had been in N.Y. since Kellogg, save a short stint in London.
Exciting news from Kate (Kustermann) and Jose Rivera! They write: “We are extremely happy to announce the birth of our daughter, Claire Marie, on April 16 in Paris. Claire is pure joy and keeps us laughing every day. We have been living/working in Paris for the last two years — Jose at Schneider Electric (‘Square D’ in the U.S.) and Kate at Deloitte France in consulting. We had the opportunity to be ex-pats, with Jose’s job as chief strategy officer for the industry business at Schneider, and we are glad we took advantage of it. It has been quite the learning and growing experience (not always an easy one, but we are really enjoying it now). The best part of our France adventure has been the addition of Claire to our family.” Congratulations! Anyone else have family additions to report (babies, dogs, cats, in-laws, etc)?
