EMP-46

Greetings to all! Alan and I would like to start out our update by thanking our classmates Paul Herring, Dave Susalla and Jose Martinez for all of the work they do to keep our class connected. Each one has served to support members of our class as they have made career transitions over the last eight years. Their friendship and guidance has been invaluable to many members of our class.

In this update, we are excited to recognize Dennis Bailey as our classmate who has made the greatest number of moves within one company and across the nation. Since he started with Allstate Insurance Company, his travels have taken him: N.Y. to Ariz., Ariz. to N.Y., N.Y. to Chicago, Chicago to Ariz., Ariz. to Chicago and Chicago to Ariz. So as he sees it, the probability that he'll be back to Chicago is fairly high. He is hoping to at least stay in Arizona through the winter.

Larry Bilello shared the happy news that he and Evie welcomed a ninth child to their family. Their daughter Isabel was born July 7. In keeping with team metaphors, the girls now have a slim lead of 5-4 in the house. I imagine that they are leading the bathroom occupancy rate by a larger margin. We all are looking forward to the Christmas card.

Chris Bohn wrote to let us know of his new role as CFO for Hess Print Solutions. Hess is a PE portfolio company of Wellspring Capital, producing business-to-business catalogs and soft cover educational workbooks for the major educational publishers.

We were happy to hear about Nizar Jawani's ongoing support of the Partnership Walk Chicago in August. He has been quite successful in drawing media attention to his efforts as he has been on WGN News and Chicago Public Radio. As we hope that Chicago will be picked to host the Olympics in 2016, members of our class continue to strengthen the social fabric of our community.

The American College of Emergency Physicians recently named Sue Nedza a Hero of Emergency Medicine. This award recognizes members who have made a difference in the practice of emergency medicine. She also has been involved in teaching at Northwestern in the Institute for Healthcare Studies.

Paul Nelson is busy transitioning to screen-based commodities trading from the trading floor. He also is setting up a commodity hedge fund and running one of the premier risk management firms focusing on grain and soybean producers.

Chris Quatrochi is in Michigan working for Whirlpool Corporation. He is global director for total cost productivity and relocated to Benton Harbor. Jose is planning a party at Chris's next summer- details to follow.

Alloy Polymers appointed Charles M. Chiappone to serve as CEO. Charles joined the company in September 2006 as president and COO and has been instrumental in improving operational efficiencies, building a new leadership team and developing and executing the company's acquisition strategy. His career spans more than 20 years and includes diverse functional and global P&L experience with GE and SPX Corp.

Elias Sfeir sends greetings to all. He is keeping busy through his work at EAS Consulting Co.

This year, Kellogg is celebrating its Centennial Event. Kellogg has been extraordinarily successful in developing global leaders who make contributions of lasting significance for the world. Alan and I are honored to continue to catalog the contributions that EMP-46 has made to that legacy. We look forward to continuing the tradition.
