In January, Commander Shankar, aka TS Shankar, returned from a one-year tour of duty in Iraq. He is the Navy Reserve winner of the prestigious Federal Asian Pacific American Counsel award, which recognized "his keen insight and understanding of Asian and Middle Eastern cultures, combined with his analytical and problem-solving skills, making him an invaluable player in the Global War on Terrorism." Shankar is back at work for the Packaging Corporation in Lake Forest, Ill. Our Vicky Shire Dinges made a move from the McCormick Tribune Foundation to become assistant vice president of public social responsibility at Allstate Insurance Company. In this newly created position, Vicky oversees the corporation's public social responsibility efforts, directing strategy and initiatives for The Allstate Foundation and its domestic violence and teen driving signature programs, employee volunteerism, corporate social responsibility programming and Chicago cultural and civic affairs. Now we know Allstate is in great hands. Congratulations, Vicky! |
