2000 — Full-Time

There's been a lotta babies and weddings in our class.

Ben Huang ’00, daughter Amanda, Dora Huang ’00 and baby boy Matthew

Ben and Dora Huang welcomed their second child Matthew on June 19. Matthew will learn the ways of the world from big sister Amanda.

Charlie Michaelis and wife Keri welcomed their daughter Nora Louise on Feb. 27. She joins big brothers Foster (6) and Luke (5) at the family's home in Alpharetta, Ga. Charlie still works for AT&T in the Atlanta area.

Christina Hazday (Cooper) and husband Sal welcomed their second son Graham on June 6 while Cooper celebrated his second birthday Aug. 18.

Andres Franco and Carolina Castillo had their first baby Alejandro Franco Castillo on March 21. The happy family is living in Madrid, Spain.

Kendra Drozd and husband Tim '01 welcomed their third daughter Caroline Mae Drozd to the world June 20. Caroline's big sisters Katherine and Elizabeth love taking care of their new sister.

Justine (Shea) Donnelly and husband Matt welcomed daughter Samantha Shea on May 21. They're still living in New Jersey and working at J&J in pharmaceutical strategic marketing.

George Rossolatos and wife Zoe Rossolatos gave birth to Nicholas, their first son, on May 14.

Anshu (Mittal) Gupta and husband Vishal welcomed Nikhil to the world May 12.

Chase Josue Bellamy was born July 15 to Trena Drayton and Jules Bellamy.

Newly Hitched

Jody Johanssen got married in Cyprus June 20 to Martin Snelling and became instant "mum" to his four kids. The happy family resides in Dubai.

Catherine (Cox) Draper married Brad in August 2007 in St. Paul, Minn. Many Kellogg friends were on hand to join in the celebration.

Larry Rubin married Jessica Sectzer on June 1 in Milwaukee. In attendance from Kellogg was Nicolas Gentin, Greg Myers, Steve Katz, and Jonathan Gonsky. The happy couple is living in Chicago, where Larry has been working for the past five years at FTD.

Larry Freeman Hall and Suzann Arnold tied the knot in Atlanta on June 7. (Yes, they have a cool wedding date 6/7/08.) Steeped in Southern tradition, the day started with a beautiful church ceremony and transitioned to the Atlanta History Center. Southern hospitality gave way to some sweet blues music at the reception...and even a New Orleans funeral march (insert joke here). The Kellogg Class of 2000 was well represented by: Bob Dold, Matt Prevost, Laurie Burkland Waller, Jeff Bennett, Adam Koontz, Phil Furse, Steve Lacoff, Eric Vaden, Robert Lesley, Bill Lunsford, Tom Joyce and David Withers.

Jose Luis Villanueva and Karina Morales wed May 17 in Monterrey, Mexico. Early festivities included mariachi bands and dining at a traditional Mexican restaurant (goat, fried ants, and mole). After a gorgeous wedding ceremony, the real party began. Jose Luis and Karina entertained the guests with an impromptu flamenco dance and (whether planned before or after the tequila) out came the Mexican wrestling masks. Not all Mexican weddings have wrestling masks — just the good ones! In attendance from Kellogg were: Jonathan Muhtar, Jose Luis Villanueva, Xavier Valencia, Adam Koontz, Ariel Reyes, Eric Goldberg, Pedro Gonzalez, Javier Carballo and Homero Gonzalez.

Career Updates

Mike Riskind was promoted to head of U.S. equity sales for KeyBanc Capital Markets and lives in New York City.

Still with IBM Business Consulting, Norma Nieto relocated to Pittsburgh from Washington D.C. Before leaving D.C., she had fun revisiting her Special K days when she joined a sketch comedy troupe and wrote and performed with them for a few months.

Peter Kjome, former principal oboist for the Grand Rapids Symphony, was named president and CEO of the 78-year-old orchestra. He will manage day-to-day operations, guide fundraising and lead organizational planning.

Burton Alert. Burton Roberts is still living in Hollywood, working on his production company, Around The World Productions. They've launched the online interactive show "Around The World For Free" and an online show for "The Rachael Ray Show." He is also pitching a number of travel/reality shows across all distribution platforms. He is still CEO and host for the Yacht Channel. All the while, Burton has been traveling the country and world for work and fun: Canada, Vietnam, Mexico, Hawaii, France, Seychelles and the Bahamas have been among his destinations.
