1995 — Part-Time

Earlier this year, after living and working in Mexico for 10 years, Joe Gordillo returned to the U.S., settling in San Diego with his family, wife Erika and two daughters Montserrat (7) and Sofia (4). He is a managing partner with True Blue Consulting, a management consulting firm, specialized in cost recovery and expense reduction. He still does a lot of mountain biking and running — mainly for fun and to stay in shape, no time for competitive races/training — and plays golf every chance he gets. He's been able to touch base with alums Scott Kratzer and Laura (Wimmer) Demos, who both live in the area.

Jean Kaihatsu reports it has been a busy summer for the family, with Kenji and Anjolie starting first grade and kindergarten, respectively. She remains at Nuveen Investments as SVP of product management and her husband Ed continues as associate head coach of Northwestern's fencing program.

Stacy Karel joined @properties in its Bucktown office. She shares that her Web site is one of the most successful independent sites in Chicago. This year she coordinated a group move of more than 75 employees, selling over $20 million of real estate and is also developing a townhome project in Phoenix.

After spending several years on Wall Street, J. Armand Musey left his job to complete his goal of climbing the highest peak on each continent. He reached this goal with an ascent of Mount Everest (29,035 feet) on May 24, raising more than $40,000 for the Red Cross's International Response Fund in the process. (See the fall '08 Northwestern University alumni magazine for more information.) He is completing a master's degree in modern European studies at Columbia University and seeking his next career challenge.

Deborah Nustad lives in Brookfield, Wis., with husband Tim and their three children, Sarah (7), Alexander (4) and Matthew (1). The family enjoyed many summer weekends at their lake home, which Deborah describes as a perfect place for kayaking and fishing. She works in global marketing operations for GE Healthcare, which provides a lot of variety and enables her to work flexible hours. Deborah also continues her involvement with the Betty Brinn Children's Museum in Milwaukee which includes serving as co-chair for its annual Gala in October. Deborah's favorite "Kellogg moment" this year was having the opportunity to hear Professor Greg Carpenter speak on marketing strategy to a classroom full of executives at GE. She really enjoyed catching up with Professor Carpenter and sends a special hello to Julie Harrie and Danielle Dycus, who have been great friends after meeting at Kellogg orientation many, many years ago.

After bypassing it right out of Kellogg, Mike Stachowiak eventually decided to go the consulting route and is a senior manager at Deloitte Consulting within the financial services practice based in Chicago, where he also is serving as the lead for strategy and operations consulting recruiting at Kellogg. He and wife Julie celebrated their 17th anniversary and have two children, Lily (10) and Henry (7). Mike and Julie spend most of their free time with their children, with "Coach Mike" transitioning from youth baseball to soccer for the fall season.

Jon Sonnenschein shares that on July 17 their family welcomed a second daughter, Lily Elise.

Andy Williams left Saint-Gobain Crystals in August 2007 to join Canberra as vice president of operations. Canberra, a customer of Andy's while he was at Saint-Gobain, makes radiation detection equipment and systems used in homeland security, the military and nuclear power plants. As a result of the job change, the family (wife Lisa and three children, Connor (12), Claire (6) and Caron (4)) moved from Chagrin Falls, Ohio, to Glastonbury, Conn. In his new position, he has eight operations in five countries in North America and Europe and is in the process of expanding in Asia. He has been traveling a lot and enjoys running into fellow Kellogg alums in many places.

Michael J. Windler still manages the electromagnetic compatibility and network equipment laboratories in North America for Underwriters Laboratories Inc. He reports that summer vacation provided brief visits with family in Akron, Ohio, and Milwaukee. Michael looks forward to upcoming volunteer activities, which include the American Heart Association Heart Walk and Dylan's walk/run for autism in Milwaukee. He also volunteers as a football coach in the Chicago Youth Football League (Grayslake Colts), where his two boys (ages 13 and 10) play football and his daughter (8) is considering cheerleading.

The University of Alaska Southeast asked Rick Wolk, assistant professor marketing and entrepreneurship, to take over as MBA program director for its Alaska-wide online MBA program. Rick invites Kellogg classmates to contact him with any expertise and advice they might wish to share with the Alaskan MBA students.
