Trish ’77 and Peter Simmie ’75 at their daughter Elizabeth’s wedding

1975

Bruce C. Sandelin is retired from Archer Daniels Midland and living in Denton, Texas. His wife Gay died in 2003 of cancer. He remarried in 2007 to Karen. Santorini is their next destination and then a return to their favorite place, Maui. Karen is starting her own business and Bruce is helping her get it going.

Bradley Bertoch can't believe he has gotten old in the last 33 years. Robyn and Brad became grandparents for the first time. They welcomed Zachary Peter Swenson into the world last November. He's one big kid who is already being recruited for football. Brad wants him to be a Wildcat, but his daughter says, "Notre Dame." Where did Brad and Robyn go wrong?

For the last 14 years, John Levine has been enjoying his third career. The first was in marketing management for leading consumer goods companies. The second was a brief stint in marketing and sales for a startup. After that company folded, he started a consulting business specializing in new product development and brand leveraging. It has been a great run so far (no sign of a fourth career yet). He gets to do the work he loves and stretch his skills across a range of issues and industries. While not for everyone, the independent work has been very satisfying for John. He lives in Northbrook, Ill., with his wife Merril whom he met soon after starting his business.

Trish '77 and Peter Simmie celebrated the wedding of their oldest daughter Elizabeth in Toronto in August. At the wedding was John Roberts, a former Kellogg professor. The Simmies have two other girls Kate (24) and Martha (22). Trish is executive vice president of Ipsos Canada and Peter is a founding managing director of Bristol Gate Capital Partners Inc. in Toronto, an investment advisory firm.

Jim Curto reports that 2009 will mark the 10th anniversary of The Birches Assisted Living, a company he founded and operates in Clarendon Hills, Ill.
