EMP-60

Luis Orbegoso is having a great year of change! Check out his fantastic update: "Hey my peeps of EMP-60. Believe it or not, after 13 years, I have decided to leave GE. My last day was Aug. 31. It was one of the toughest decisions I have ever had to make, but I was presented with a great opportunity that was very difficult for me to refuse. I will be leaving for United Technologies. They own Carrier Air Conditioning, Otis Elevators, Sikorski helicopter, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft engines and UTC Fire & Security. I will be joining the fire and security division as vice president of product development. Colleen and I will be staying in Connecticut and will continue to freeze our butts off. Send me a line every once in awhile!"

PA Wendin gave me a call to say he is loving his new business with Kris Intress of EMP-61. They are in the third-party hotel representation business, taking reservations and acting as a distribution channel for hotel properties around the United States. If you have plans to visit Nashville, give him a call. He has enjoyed seeing Rich Rusnack and family back in Chicago.

I heard from Alejandro Poma, and he sent me a beautiful picture of him with his daughters, Natalia (3) and Andrea (6), on vacation in the Florida Keys. He also had this to share: "About a year ago I moved into a new home that I built during our MBA experience. I am happy to report that all is well and that I am quite busy working in the investments division of our family business. I have also been involved in a few entreprenurial projects including a stint in the publishing business. A few partners and I bought Central America's leading business magazine. I wish everyone all the best and I extend an invitation to all who wish to visit El Salvador. Killer beaches, waves and sun await."

Since he is closer, I am hoping for a visit soon.

Bob Herzog has made a great transition down to sunny (and muggy) Miami. He has relocated there to become the general manager of a company called Bullet Line, a $70-million subsidiary of Leed's. Eventually when the past owner transitions out, he will become the president and COO. Just remember all us little people Bob, and now we have a place to crash after a long night in South Beach!

Please keep in touch. Miss you all and hope to see you soon!
