Rick
Pollock '03 with wife Kelly, son Evan, and their new baby
Leah. |

Rick
Pollock and his wife, Kelly, welcomed daughter Leah into
their family on Aug. 21. Their son Evan (3) loves having a
little sister and is a wonderful big brother.
Richard
Alvarez just took a position as vice president of business
development for Interactive Health Solutions, based in Arlington
Heights, Ill. They are a population health management company
focused on results-based health strategies for employers.
Funny thing is he and fellow Kellogg classmates created a
company similar to this in entrepreneurship-new venture formulation
class while at Kellogg. Also, come see him banging the drums
around Chicago in his new rock cover band, Jake to the Bone.
Kurt
Spackman welcomed a baby boy on July 3. The little bruiser
was 7 pounds, 1 ounce, healthy and happy despite being a month
early. He'll be the next great Big Ten linebacker. Kurt is
getting ready for a job change within the Marine Corps, which
will take him to Northern Virginia. He's hoping to finish
out his next few years there before he decides where to begin
his new career doing something.
Kamal
Shivpuri was promoted to international product director
by GE Transportation. His responsibilities include management
of all product lines for the Russia and the CIS Region, North
Africa and South Asia including strategic marketing, new product
introduction and breakthrough growth initiatives. He is extremely
excited by this opportunity to create and launch new products
in a rapidly developing region.
Bo
Sandine wrote with the following update: "I am pleased
to share with you that on Aug. 6, I was hired as product manager
for Sonance in San Clemente, Calif. Sonance invented the first
in-wall speaker for the home custom-installation market in
1982, thus creating a new industry, referred to today as 'architectural
audio.'
"This
new position allows me to utilize my Kellogg-honed marketing
skills. I report directly to the CMO, Steve Crawford, a smart
and accessible strategic marketer. Steve was the global brand
director at Coca-Cola, and over the last few years, he has
deftly re-positioned our company to great success. Sonance
has evolved into a design company with innovative solutions
that balance aesthetic appeal with audiophile-quality sound."
