2002
— Part-Time Once
again, TMP 2002 has heard my desperate cries for news and
lent a helping hand with the following updates:
On
July 9, Sarah Alger started her new role as director
of annual giving at the Newberry Library. She is greatly enjoying
learning about the library and its many treasures, while raising
funds to conserve them and make them accessible.
Marie
Stinneford writes: "Although not currently in the
work force, I am looking forward to taking the Kellogg class
about returning to work in a few years — what a great
concept! I've recently moved (yes, again) to Ponte Vedra Beach,
Fla. A much warmer climate than Minnesota!"
Greg
Wessels continues his work with Sanofi-Aventis but has
recently taken over as product manager for Taxotere, a group
within the oncology business unit.
Jeff
Lieberman was recently promoted to director of accounting
at United Stationers, North America's largest wholesale distributor
of business products, headquartered in Deerfield, Ill. In
this role, he is responsible for several areas of the finance
and accounting function, including SEC reporting and internal
management reporting.
J'ne
(Kinney) Templin and husband Cary welcomed son Cole to
the family earlier this year. J'ne continues in her position
as vice president for account management in the commercial
real estate group at Jones Lang LaSalle and has recently made
the move from the city to the 'burbs with a home in Frankfort,
Ill.
Speaking
of children, Sabrina Karl and husband Brian Beutter
became parents of daughter, Ocean, back in March.
Chris
Gorey is working with the Trustmark Companies as vice
president for strategic business development, where he is
responsible for evaluating emerging business opportunities
in the healthcare and/or employee benefits space, including
consideration of possible acquisition targets. Chris and wife
Amy are living in Arlington Heights, Ill., with son C.J. (5)
and daughter Avery (3).

USG Corporation. Dan continues to make his home here in the
Chicago area with wife Becky and sons Carter (3) and Noah

Rochelle

married June 16 at the Adler Planetarium — "with
fireworks and all the bells and whistles" — and
honeymooned in beautiful Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Congrats
to you both!
Beth
Ida Stern accepted
a position with LUNGevity Foundation in April as executive
director. LUNGevity funds research into detection, treatment
and cure of lung cancer and provides support for people affected
by lung cancer. Beth reports: "I am in the process of
developing a strategic plan for the organization and am using
my Kellogg skills every day. This job represents a major change
for me, as I've spent my professional life in the for-profit
world, but it was a conscious mid-life decision. My aunt died
of lung cancer on Mother's Day last year, and it really motivated
me to redirect my career."
From
Shiva Kalisetty: "We left the Windy City for Dallas-Fort Worth
on July 7 after about 15 great years in Chicago, with Kellogg
being one of the greatest experiences. It has been pretty
difficult, especially with multiple 100-degree days (and colleagues
call this one of the mildest summers for over a decade). We
are just about settled, with school in session for my kids
Sid and Sanjna and with my wife Madhvi ready to start a new
business venture. I joined ATX group (one of the largest independent
telematcis service provider company) as vice president of
business development in the consumer electronics business.
Looking forward to attending Kellogg alumni events in the
DFW area. Anyone coming down South, please look me up."

Calvert Street Capital Partners as a principal and says: "We
have a $120 million fund, looking to make $3 to $10 million

salon features friendly and professional staff of stylists
in Knockouts boxing uniforms, large leather chairs fitted
specially for men, individual flat screen TVs with a remote
control and complimentary beverages at each station. The environment
is upscale and professional, yet casual and fun. Since 2004,
Knockouts has sold more than 120 franchises in 13 states.
It currently operates nine salons, with many more scheduled
to open soon." Good luck, Bing!
Tim
Britt is the CEO of
Synoptek, a firm that provides consulting services and outsourced
IT services to operations and technology intensive businesses
typically in the consumer products, financial services and
healthcare industries. "I started the business in 2004.
We rebranded the company as Synoptek after an acquisition
in 2006. We transitioned from ICG to Synoptek after the merger
in 2006 and have continued to grow rapidly — both organically
and through the acquisition." He says the family still
loves Newport Beach, Calif., and they expect to be there for
a long time.

We live in Menlo Park, Calif.
After

Mary Pat. In 2006 he moved to New York, where he is a director

a few years and serving in various capacities for Sprint (director
of product development, director of business marketing, director
of business development), I've moved back to Chicago to run
Sprint's company owned-retail channel, approximately $400
million in revenue. More interesting however, my wife Carmin
'05, has started a real estate development company focused
on both residential and commercial construction, and she will
be featured for an entire season on the HGTV show "Dream
House." Between work, assisting my wife with her startup
and raising our four children, I've also managed to become
a commissioner for the City of Wheaton's community relations
committee and joined the board of the Infusion Theater Company
in Chicago. Needless to say, I'm keeping busy."
That's
all folks. Keep the news flowing and give me a call if you
are ever in Chicago and want to grab a beer. Cheers.
