Barry
Berlin
writes: "For the last several years, I've been managing
director of Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management in Atlanta.
My practice includes a number of wealthy families, endowments
and foundations. With two children, Carly (11) and Ross (9),
a great wife (Martha, who retired from a media career), and
an active civic profile, life couldn't be better, or busier.
After almost 30 years, I still frequently relate the story
of our one exceptionally cold and snowy winter in Chicago
... which has kept me in the South ever since."
Holly
Klotz writes: "I have been at The HAVI Group LP,
a privately held supplier to McDonald's and Starbucks, since
my daughter Jane was a baby, 17 years ago. Dave, Jane and
I have embarked on that most interesting time of life known
as the college search."
Bill
McCarron writes: "I run a media consultancy called
RMVco, after having worked at Verizon and several agencies.
RMVco audits media buys, plans and analyzes competitive strategies
for clients, and does a lot of work getting agencies through
new business pitches and account performance turnarounds.
The company also helps launch one new company each year. (Last
year it was an MVNO and this year it is a digital video screen
network in doctors' offices). I also produced the past five
Family TV Workshops each year with the Family Friendly Programming
Forum, the National Council for Families and Television and
the Association of National Advertisers. The objective is
to ensure there is always at least one alternative on TV that
you can watch with your family. The effort started by getting
the 'Gilmore Girls' produced, and it led to lots of other
shows, usually four or five new ones a year, like 'Everybody
Hates Chris,' 'Ugly Betty,' 'Chuck' and 'Life is Wild'."

Peter
Thompson writes: "I am in the College of Business
Administration at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I
teach compensation and introduction to management to undergraduates,
and human resource management to MBA students."
Ian
Anderson writes: "Joanne (Toeniskoetter) Anderson
and I are now officially empty nesters, having just sent our
youngest, Stephen, off to Villanova. We are going to be superfans
this fall, spending each weekend following our senior daughter,
Lindsay, and her Northwestern volleyball team to matches both
home and away. Our oldest son, Ian, is working for E&Y
in Miami, and recently spent four weeks in Monaco. Nice consolation
for a tough busy season."
Steve
Weinstein writes: "I recently received two honors.
I was selected by Barron's in its Aug. 27 issue as
one of the top 100 independent financial advisers in America,
and in its Sept. 3 issue, Crain's named me to its annual
listing of Who's Who in Chicago Business 2007."
Bill
Zakroff writes: "I have been appointed a non-executive
director of Hardide, a provider of unique surface engineering
technology. Hardide operations are based in Oxfordshire, England,
with U.S. sales and manufacturing located in Houston."
Finally,
Colin Kresock and I write, "In September, our
16-year old daughter, Elizabeth, teamed with Champions Tour
pro Craig Stadler in the Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Pebble
Beach. Colin joined her on the trip. Elizabeth is the 2007
Colorado junior girls' state champion."
