Ed Walters was appointed deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Army by President George W. Bush in March. Ed has previously been a consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton and a military intelligence officer in the U.S. Army. In this new position, he will lead strategy management within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics and technology.

Wendy (Shields) and Kyle Freimuth '01 welcomed Zachary Aaron last fall. Wendy stays busy taking care of Zachary and big sister Ariana (2) and running a daily money management business. Freimuth Daily Money Management specializes in assisting independent seniors with their personal finances.

Sarah Alger continues in her role in development for Northwestern Memorial Hospital and is a mother of two boys, so fall weekends are focused on soccer practices and games.

Young Hong reports that after 20 years of living in the Chicago area (since high school) he has returned to Korea to work for Samsung: "It is a big change for me. Culture is very different and it took me a while to get used to it. Now I am well adjusted and people here cannot tell if I am from the states or not. I am having fun here."

Marie (DeBrosse) Stinneford writes, "I have moved to Minneapolis and am currently a stay-at-home-mom. I had my second child, Mary Clare, in November 2005. My first child, Kathleen, was born just before we graduated and walked with me on graduation day! The Kellogg Alumni Association is strong up here and I have had the opportunity to stay connected with Kellogg via the group. We will be celebrating Mary Clare's first birthday in Chicago by attending the NU/OSU game!"

From Ron Papcun: "Living in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. My daughter is 8 and just scored 99 out of 100 on her third grade math test (clearly she has her mom's intellect). I'm still at Falken Tire Corp., a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corp., Japan. We manufacture, sell and distribute aftermarket replacement tires and custom wheels worldwide. I am the director of operations, where I oversee the supply chain, warehousing, distribution and customer service."

Renee Silverstein was promoted to Midwest regional manager for HBF and HBF Textiles. In addition, this fall, Renee and her husband Mark celebrated the birthdays of their daughter Ariana (1) and their son Max (4).

Mina Dhaliwal was married Sept. 2 to James O'Hearn in Boston. The couple will reside in New York City.

Chris Gorey is living in Arlington Heights with his wife Amy, son CJ (4) and daughter Avery (2). Chris recently changed employment to become vice president of sales for Summit Alliance Benefits Group, an innovative company that introduces more affordable and personalized employee benefits.

Reggie Colby is working for Alberto Culver as the director of operations. He is responsible for engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and supply chain management for Cosmetic Laboratories of America, a $50-million subsidiary of Alberto Culver. There he manufactures hair-care and skin-care products (including Nexxus, Alberto VO5 and Tresseme brands), Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body Works, Guthy Renker (Proactiv), and other marketing companies. Reggie has been living in the Los Angeles area for about a year and a half.

Peter Syslack is working for Wells Fargo as vice president of sales for their funds management group. Peter served in the same capacity with Strong Investments prior to Strong being acquired by Wells Fargo. He is living in Sussex, Wis., with his wife and two young daughters — Annika (2) and baby Kendall. Peter is staying active as a board member for the Menomonee Falls chamber of commerce and still managed to run his first marathon last year right here in Chicago.

Mark Angelos is in Los Angeles working as a senior manager in the real estate advisory practice for Ernst & Young.

Angela John is living in Katy, Texas, and still working at BP, but in a new role as marketing and origination manager for natural gas in the eastern United States.

Ogi Redzic is working in Chicago as director of product management for the Americas with NAVTEQ.

Leigh Barber lives in Homewood, Ill., with his wife and two daughters (3 and 1). Leigh is co-owner of the BP Construction Group LLC, a general contracting and development firm based in Chicago. Over the summer, he landed a $1.5-million contract to build 10 new homes in Chicago by April 2007 and a $2-million contract to rehabilitate a mixed-use property on the south side of Chicago.

Darwin Airola is running HyperGalaxy Inc., a boutique technology-consulting firm. He is spending his free time surfing and working on his private pilot's license.

Steve Mindy works in a strategic planning role for Wrigley in Chicago and lives with his wife and three young children in Orland Park, Ill.

Sumeet Kapoor is working for Diamond Management and Technology Consultants (formerly DiamondCluster) and continues to pursue his passion for cricket. He played in the Midwest Cricket Conference title this fall.

Mitch McCloskey continues as treasurer for Colorado Bankers Life in Denver. More importantly, Mitch, Katie and son Casey welcomed the newest McCloskey, Molly Kathleen (Maggie), on July 10.

Robert Corne left the Chicago Board Options Exchange in June 2005 for a chief financial officer position at Howe Barnes Hoefer & Arnett Inc., a full-service broker-dealer. His second daughter, Madeline, was born on Oct. 18. His elder daughter Ella is almost four. Robert and wife Michelle moved to Valparaiso, Ind., in October to be closer to family and the golf course but is still adjusting to his long daily commute to Chicago.

Nicole (Smith) Merriam and her husband Chris welcomed their second little boy, Remi Henri, into the world on Feb. 2. Nicole is now the controller for McLarney Construction, a general contractor in San Jose, Calif., specializing in commercial tenant improvement work.

David Paoni is working for SAP Americas and living in Philadelphia.

Grace Chang continues to work for Intuit in Mountain View, Calif., as senior financial manager. Grace also reports that she has started a business with two friends that focuses on personal/estate tax and financial planning services.

Lori Parnes was married shortly after graduation to Bill Dawson. She continued to work with BDO Seidman leading the business valuation practice in Chicago where she was promoted to managing director in July 2004. Lori and Bill became proud parents in early 2005 with the arrival of Katie Dawson. Also during 2005, Lori left BDO to accept a position as managing director at Linn, Thurber, Arnold & Skrabanek where she advises private wealth clients with closely held investments.

Zach Markiewicz took a position with Anheuser Busch in St. Louis in May 2005 and was recently promoted manager of brand research.

Tim Britt reports: "My wife and I are living in Newport Beach, Calif. After leaving the Internet startup Ourhouse.com, I moved to Orange County as the interim CEO for a technology services company that was being restructured and sold in the wake of the technology industry slowdown. We restructured the company via mezzanine financing and a management buyout. I subsequently started a company that provides one-stop business process improvement, information technology services and outsourcing for medium-sized businesses. We have grown about 400 percent per year for the past three years and are enjoying the challenges that go along with that growth. We are excited about expanding geographically in the next two to three years. My wife and I have four kids under eight (three girls and a boy) that keep us busy. I encourage anyone that is visiting or working in Southern California to give me a call or shoot me a note."

Mayura (Ladwa) Garg recently joined Intel's mobile marketing group as a wireless product manager. Mayura lives with her husband Jay Garg in Santa Clara, Calif.

Nishea Clark and her husband continue to reside in the New York City area. They recently purchased a home in Nyack, N.Y., which they are renovating. Nishea continues to run her marketing and strategy business, NVC Consulting LLC, serving clients both domestic and international. She just completed work on a major global product launch in the pharmaceutical industry.

Manuel Mendez continues his globetrotting with Abbott Labs. In October 2005 he left his position in Korea to assume the role as Abbott Labs' general manager of the Benelux region. Manuel, Letty and children Isabelle, Cecilia and Nicoman are living in Louvain La Neuve, Belgium, and offer to buy drinks for any classmate who comes to visit!

Jennifer Moss reports: "I am still an operations controller for Federal-Mogul and still married with two kids (Ryan and Anna). The automotive industry is still 'challenged,' as I am sure most people are aware. Fortunately for us, a large portion of our business is in the aftermarket, so we don't feel the full impact of everything going on with the big three. My husband Keith and I recently celebrated our 11-year wedding anniversary." Congrats on everything, Jennifer.
