EMP-34

When his mission was to find the best executive possible for the position, who did Tim Wujcik, CEO of Chase Winters Worldwide, contact for a "house call?" SuperNanny, of course. Both Tim and his wife, Toni, were featured on "SuperNanny" with their children, Alec (6), Bryce (5) and Carly (1). Tim says, "It was a lot fun and a great experience for the whole family. Jo Frost really knows her stuff." As we all know, Tim really knows how to recruit top talent!

Ever heard the phrase, "Click It or Ticket?" If so, you have been influenced by the National Safety Council, a nonprofit, nongovernmental service organization located in Itasca, Ill., where Kevin Reilly began work as executive director of information systems in May. This is Kevin's first nonprofit position and he immediately saw a difference within its corporate culture. "While every company has a mission or vision statement, the National Safety Council lives theirs. Everyone here is focused on making work, home, school, and driving safer. It is very rewarding to be part of that mission." He would enjoy hearing from his fellow Kellogg grads, especially if he could help you out.

Michael P. Curran is president and a member of the board of managers of CPS Holdings LLC. CPS is a diversified holding company with four operating units – LitNeutral, Claim Process Solutions, MedNeutral and Claim Intelligence, with offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, Hartford and San Diego. The company focuses on business process outsourcing for the financial services vertical and has built enterprise software for the insurance industry. While Mike spends a fair amount of time in his Deerfield office and on American Airlines, he continues to be active in the Economic Club of Chicago and national Democratic politics. He and his wife Karil have tackled a remodeling job in Lake Forest and a move this summer. Mike would welcome a chance to reconnect with fellow EMP-34 alums and their families.

Here's an update from Maura O'Hara: "I left Sears in July 2003. I was looking for something small and entrepreneurial. Since 2004, I have been running the Illinois Venture Capital Association (IVCA) a trade association representing the VC and private equity community, which completely fits those requirements. In addition to providing information and education to our members, the IVCA advocates for members with Illinois government entities and with Illinois-based pension funds. Our membership has more than $59 billion under management. It is really a great job because we are a very small office with just three employees, I get to work in a very fast-paced industry and collaborate with really smart people.

"We're still living in Oak Park. Bob and I have two boys, Duncan (8) and Graham (6). I love being a parent and we've had great fun this summer doing kid stuff. Last year we spent a week in Northern Michigan with the extended O'Hara family celebrating my parents' 50th wedding anniversary.

"I've seen several EMPers in the last year. Mike Curran is CEO of a new company and is doing great. Bete Demeke is still at IBM. He's married now and heading off to China for a while. Dave Southern is at Gardner, Carton & Douglas as chief marketing officer and Karl Johnson is running his own merchant banking business. Brian Stading moved with Qwest out to Denver."
