Venessa
Acham
writes, "Members of St. Thomas Episcopal Choir of Hanover,
including me, were part of the celebration service for Major
State Day, which honored the State of New Hampshire. The service
was held in the picturesque Washington National Cathedral
in July. It was an awe-inspiring and humbling experience,
even though this was my second performance at the cathedral."
Jody
Baghat writes, "Thanks for keeping us all connected.
Here's an update on me: I was all ready to provide you a sensational,
juicy, provocative, scandalmongering update, but unfortunately,
that's not my life! My wife and I spend our time chasing our
two little boys who provide all the intrigue of a good James
Bond flick. I spent a few glorious years in Sydney, Australia,
and moved to San Francisco in 1999, where I met my wife. We
live in Los Altos, Calif., and I have spent the last three
years at Wells Fargo in consumer lending. Would love to catch
up with those visiting the Bay Area or looking for some fun
work in financial services. The next time I will have a juicy
update will be when our four-year-old reaches the teens.
Sonya
Grier writes, "After spending the last three years
in an interdisciplinary fellowship housed in a health policy
center at Penn, I have taken a tenured position in the marketing
department of the business school at American University in
Washington, D.C. I'll teach advertising and social marketing
to undergrads and MBAs. I'll also continue my research on
how target marketing influences peoples health-related and
consumer behaviors, along with the implications for marketing
related public policy. It was fun to see folks at the reunion!"
Reed
Webster tells us: "Ed Keller and his wife
Sara and three kids have moved back to Riverside, Conn., from
Marblehead, Mass., where he is head of U.S. research sales
for Dean Witter Reynolds (oh, sorry, I meant Morgan Stanley!)."
Geraldine
Henderson writes, "I have moved again, and this time,
it's back to Northwestern." Geraldine joined the Medill
faculty this fall as a tenured associate professor, where
she will continue her research in branding, consumer perception
and memory, and associative networks.
Amanda
Duisman writes, "Just thought I'd mention that Sybase
promoted me to treasurer in May. Sybase is a $800-million
software company. I've been at Sybase more than 10 years now,
starting as a senior financial analyst. I had another article
published over the summer, this time on mergers and acquisitions
integration, in Bank of America's publication, IdeasLab.
Hope all is well for you!"
John
Funk and Tim Balfe ask if anyone else would like
to get first dibs on all the Class Notes fit to print by taking
over the quarterly updates for Kellogg World. This
is our third year, after Laura Sankey's 12 or so. It's
time to pass the torch! This should encourage broader participation
by our classmates and we all know that new blood always seems
to generate an increase in responses for several quarters
at least, thus benefiting all. It takes very little time each
quarter and provides some great connectivity among us classmates.
Please respond by e-mail if interested. C'mon, you know you
want to!
