Alisa Levy Klein '84
Alisa Levy Klein '84 and family at Disney World in Orlando, Fla.
Hello from Riverwoods. I hope you all had a wonderful summer and you're enjoying the return to the realities of fall and winter. During the summer my family and I took a much-anticipated trip to Orlando to play with Mickey and friends. While there, we were able to meet up with Kenny Potrock for a couple of hours. We were lucky to be able to catch him between triathlons, travels to Disney properties throughout the world and extravagant marketing events for which his division is responsible. My kids, who are 12, 10 and 6, were in awe that Kenny knows all the kids from "High School Musical," but my 6-year-old was unimpressed by his being on a first-name basis with Mickey Mouse. His response was, "Duh, they work for the same company." Kenny is doing great and he and his family love the lifestyle in Florida.

In other Disney-related news, I received this note from Marvin Irby. "I am currently vice president of global finance for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. My wife Lynn David '82 and son David (16) have been in Orlando since 1998. When not traveling between Florida and California, my hobbies include working out and running. I also am a member of my church council and currently serve on the executive board of the Central Florida United Way."

Pam Brecker Hendrickson writes: "I hope everyone is sitting down, but after 23 years at JP Morgan I finally decided to do something different. In February I joined The Riverside Company, a private equity firm specializing in small middle market deals. Amazingly, my departure made The Wall Street Journal (guess you have to leave to get noticed!). I had a lot of help with this decision from John Youngblood, who spent most of New Year's morning helping me with my contract and making bets that I wouldn't actually pull the plug on JPM. Anyway, I love my new job and Doug and I remain happily ensconced in our New York City apartment with our 5'9" son Will (13) and 4'11" daughter Janie (10). Would love to hear from any and all."

Dave Chen sent a note. He and Monte Pitt continue to make wine in the beautiful Portland area. He writes that: "I see a lot of Jim Huston, was just on a panel with him a few weeks ago. I also worked with Murli Thirumale on his old company, Net6. I still hear from Ian Howe calling from somewhere on the planet, usually in Asia. Bob Cornick still has fast cars and lives in Chicago."

Joe Korn (left), Beth Smith Korn '92, Renee Frishman Hochberg '84 and Wayne Hochberg met up during a Backroads hiking and biking trip through Banff and Jasper National Parks.

Renee Frishman Hochberg recently took a Backroads biking and hiking trip through Banff and Jasper National Parks with her husband Wayne. She wrote: "In addition to learning that it is futile to train in Chicago for the Canadian Rockies, we learned that Kellogg alums are everywhere! We were pleased to spend lots of time with Beth Smith-Korn '92 and her husband Joe who, were also Backroads alums. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the vistas at every turn. One advantage to having been with Hewitt Associates since graduation is that I get an extra five weeks vacation every five years. The first leg we spent alone while the kids were at camp. The next leg is a dude ranch in Wyoming. I'll see how I do on the horses."

Catherine Morales has a new job as senior vice president of government and academic markets with Lexis-Nexis in Washington, D.C. Best of luck on your new endeavor, Catherine.

In closing, I want to say that I really enjoy being our class rep, but I think the column would be even better if I had some help with soliciting entries and writing it. This job has become much easier since Kellogg has almost everyone's correct e-mail address on file. I'd like to get at least one volunteer "partner" who can write one or two columns per year, but if you just want to "guest write" one column, that would be great too. It might give you the push you've been needing to call those old friends (and business contacts).

Thank you to everyone who wrote.
