Upon completing 20 years of service as a charter member of the IIT Rice Campus Board of Overseers, Emil Martinec '65 retired in June. Martinec is president emeritus of Midwest College of Engineering and negotiated the merger of the college with IIT in 1986.

Dewaine Olson '68 was recently named lecturer in corporate finance for the fall semester in the School of Business and Economics at Michigan Technological University. This marks the sixth semester for such activity since his retirement. Dewaine will also co-teach in the applied portfolio management program — a student investment program investing real monies in the market. Olson helped create this program, which has been recognized nationally at the NASDAQ and on CNBC's "Power Lunch" in 1997.
