Several of us were able to catch up at a recent get-together at Harry Caray’s, and it seems to have been a good summer for everyone. The most surprising news came from John Gillespie, who underwent heart surgery in June. He described it as an “electrical problem” that came to light from his heart monitor during a workout. John is doing great now. He was back home the evening of the surgery and passed his stress test eight days later with flying colors.

Kyma and Jim Sherman welcomed James Robin, their first child, on Aug. 4. James is named for both of his grandparents. The entire family is doing very well.

Congratulations to Tom Hayes, who has accepted a position as president and CEO of Spirit Brands Inc., a plastics manufacturer in Billerica, Mass. Tom and his family will be moving to New Hampshire (again!) soon.
