Martin
H. Brix ’40 wanted to share some sad news with
former classmates. He lost his wife, Pearl, to cancer on
April 15. The couple had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary
in 2002. He writes, “I am now living with beautiful
memories just outside of Santa Barbara in the Santa Ynez
Valley, where Pearl is resting peacefully.”
Emmett
King ’48 of Glenview, Ill., continues to work
in his own architectural firm. He and his wife, Patricia,
attend the NU football games and also see lots of movies.
They enjoy being with their six children (four sons and two
daughters), as well as their five grandchildren.
Clifford
Labelle ’48 of Zion, Ill., retired from his
law firm in 1991. That was his second career—he conducted
an insurance agency until his graduation from Kent Law School
in 1964. Cliff is also a World War II veteran of the 100th
Infantry Division in Europe and a former POW. He and his
wife, Kathleen, enjoy the Lake Michigan beaches and their
large family of four children and 15 grandchildren.
David
Krakauer ’48 of Highland Park, Ill., has conducted
his own CPA firm in that town since 1969. He and his wife,
Blossom Jordan, have one son and have greatly enjoyed their
travels in Europe.
Ernest
Komives ’48 of Villa Park, Ill., has retired
as vice president of finance for the Claud S. Gordon Co.
He and his wife, Hannah, have a fine family of two children,
four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. |
