TMP 1997

A light news period for the class, but for some of us, it has been a big last few months:

Art Tsubaki and his wife had their second child, Lilian Renee Yuri Tsubaki, in Grapevine, Texas, on June 27. Art reports, “Evan, her proud brother, is happy with the new addition to the Tsubaki family. Lilian is growing rapidly, and already has heart-warming smiles for everyone! Professionally, I moved to Uniden America Corp. as director of product planning, overseeing product marketing, planning, development and engineering for cordless telephones, radio scanners and new business development in January 2001. Uniden America Corp. is based out of Ft. Worth, Texas, just a mile south of DFW International Airport. The hardest change has been more climate-oriented (summer is pretty hot!) than job-related.”

Kerry Satterwhite and her husband, Ross, welcomed their second son, Griffin Shea Satterwhite, into the world July 3.

Bill Liu sends his first report since graduation. “I got married to Ling in 1998 and our son, Jeremy Lee Liu, was born Sept. 6. In 2001, I started NaviAsia Consulting Group with several ex-consultants to help western companies enter the Chinese market and source from China. In addition, we also help Chinese companies improve their operations. Our office is in the China World Trade Center in Beijing. Early this year, I spent three months in Beijing and Inner Mongolia to help a client set up its procurement and eBusiness strategies. I am also the chairperson for KACC’s Asia Pacific committee and we will present a series of China events this year.”

Erik Britt-Webb continues to work for Niteo Partners (formerly ZEFER), now an NEC company, where he enjoys his role leading the development of an identity management solutions practice. He and family just moved into a new home in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Guests are welcome. Reservations at ebrittwebb@yahoo.com.

Finally, I have some big news of my own. On August 31, I married Rebecca Blake TMP ’02 aboard a cruise ship in international waters off the coast of Cuba. Among a small group of family and close friends in attendance was Amy Losquadro TMP ’99. Rebecca and I met at a Kellogg TMP happy hour, which she hosted as evening management association social chair, and she made an immediate positive impression on me with her love of both cheesy pop culture and college football. While I didn’t have ulterior motives at the time in attending an “undergraduate” event, our profound happiness all started with my remaining an active alumnus!

Richard Stellner is packing his bags for the West coast, but still found time to pen the following update: “With both sadness and excitement I have accepted a promotion with Northwest Airlines to the position of station manager for Portland, Ore. The sadness is leaving my job as station manager for Northwest Airlines in Madison after four great years there. Madison is a great town and I was lucky to have found a job there that was both fun and really only 40 hours per week. I’m excited to move on to Portland — another great town, but the 40-hour week job is now a thing of the past. Welcome to the real world!”
