1999

Lots of good news and new family members for the class of ’99 lately …
Dave Medd and Margie Miller ’96 were married in July in the San Juan Islands, just north of their home in Seattle. Joining them on their special day were fellow classmates Brian Warren, Mark Pendergrast, Eric Carlson, Glenn Ward, Jackie Erickson, Sharon Goldstein, Shannon Fisher ’98, Jen Hornery ’96 and Dave Shevock ’98, Kate Brustad ’00 and Vera Holroyd ’00. After a three-day celebration in the San Juan Islands with family and friends, the couple chartered a sailboat and danced to Jimmy Buffet tunes as they sailed and scuba dived in the Caribbean.

Aurelio Paulo R “AP” Bartolome reports that First Private Bank, formerly Taguig Rural Bank, has been renamed Enterprise Capital Bank. It has been approved by the SEC, with a mission to promote and develop small and medium enterprises. Aurelio can be reached at apbartolome@yahoo.com.

Jen (Scott) and Greg Anderson are pleased to announce the arrival of their son, Samuel Wyatt Anderson, at 9:08 a.m. Sept. 4.

Dee (Binning) Muir and husband (Chad Muir, friend from Princeton, married in August 2000) welcomed a wonderful daughter, Grace Mackie Muir, into their lives March 14. They are living in Houston, where Dee is focused primarily on being a mom. In her spare time (what little she has these days!), Dee works with a small venture capital fund and is director of her family’s nonprofit organization that works with kids.

Nicole and Eric Pagel welcomed daughter, Sydney Love, into their family in July.

Siva Ramamoorthy writes “My son Siddharth was born Dec. 16, 2001. I guess our few months of sleepless nights are over and he is doing quite well. Siddharth was the childhood name of Budha and it means ‘accomplished.’ Second, I have taken a new exciting assignment with Nortel Networks in Asia, managing its wireless solutions business in India. After working for a few months on this from Dallas, we found the 24-hour-travel and jet lag quite unmanageable. We have now relocated to New Delhi, India.”

Lisa Appleby has news from both the home and job fronts. Sean Michael was born in March 2001. At Keebler, where she’s been working since just before graduation in 1998, Lisa has taken on increased responsibility. She is now working as brand manager on the following brands: Wheatables, Munch ’ems, Keebler Grahams, Zesta and Krispy. She asks all old friends to stay in touch at LappleB@aol.com. She and her husband, David, now reside in Palatine, Ill.

Parker Waller checked in to say, “Back in Chicago. I’ve returned to Wieboldt Hall for a few more years of classes — this time as a medical student.”

Greg Hocking and wife, Betsy, are celebrating the birth of twin daughters, Clara Lillian and Adelaide Mae. The twins join 2-year-old big sister, Elise.
Mark Carano and wife, Jane, welcomed the birth of Michael Andrew on March 14. In August, the new family moved to London with Deutsche Bank.

Jennifer A. O’Hara recently was named a second vice president at the Northern Trust Co. in Chicago. O’Hara is a research analyst in the equity research division who specializes in the telecommunications industry.
