Lt. Col. George K. Spangler ’47, now retired from Gund Inc., says he is “78 years old and still talking about teddy bears.” He and his wife, Carolyn Hill Spangler, enjoy their home in Sanford, N.C., where they live on a lake and enjoy pool, tennis and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.

Evan R. Terry ’47 reached a milestone in October — he completed 55 years in public accounting. Evan served as an auditing officer and as past president of the Utah Association of CPAs. On a personal note, Evan and wife, Jan, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 8. They have four children, 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Peter Bernays ’48 of Dallas still operates Hair-Bernays Realtors Inc., though he describes himself as semiretired now. He and his wife, Sally, enjoy a large family of six children (two of whom were from Peter’s marriage to his late wife, Lois) and 18 grandchildren. Their favorite travel destinations have included the United Kingdom and the Pacific area.

Robert Dickinson ’48 of Glen Ellyn, Ill., is a sales representative for the printing industry, though most of his career was spent in office products. He and his wife, Phyllis Monzel Dickinson of Arts and Sciences ’48, have one son. They have enjoyed their travels to Switzerland, Italy and the United Kingdom.

Lawrence Doroff ’48 of Skokie, Ill., owned his own business but now spends time as a computer consultant. He has authored several books in the computer field, including two on the d-Base computer system. The most recent one is d-Base II in English I. He and his wife, Fritzi, enjoy a family of two children and six grandchildren.

Arthur Erickson ’48 of Des Plaines, Ill., also owned his own business but continues to work in a consulting capacity. He and his wife, JoAnn Seabury Erickson of music ’49, have two children and four grandchildren. They have enjoyed their trips to both Maine and Door County, Wis.

Arnold Karlinsky ’48 of Northbrook, Ill., was a financial executive for much of his career. Following that, he became a broker for Morgan Stanley. He and his wife, Vivian, have three children and six grandchildren. Arnold is a golfer and has also liked their trips to Scottsdale, Ariz., and to Europe.

After finishing one career it was on to another for John F. Kennedy ’49. John retired in 1982 from Transamerica and then began a new career in real estate. He is still working as the director of the Bucks County Board of Realtors and with the Pennsylvania Board of Realtors. He has two daughters, Katherine ’72 and Margaret, and two granddaughters. He lives in Bucks County, Pa.
