Congratulations to Darren Platzky and his wife Rozanne on the birth of a son, their fifth child, in October.

Congratulations to Carine Weiner on her June wedding in Israel to Ronen Perlmuter. A number of KR-10 alumni were in attendance at the wedding, including Bat-Sheva Boker, David Parnes, Yoav Schreiber, Udi Bobrovsky, Mark Volpert, Miriam Warshaviak and Nelly Assouline. Also in attendance were Pazit Rozenzweig-Sobol, KR-10’s class coordinator, and Orit Mendelson Shoham, director of the KR program.

Tal Sliwowicz writes: “I have moved to a new company! In May, I was named CTO of TVersity — a New York-based start-up. TVersity’s main product is a highly popular (12 million users and growing) software for viewing your personal videos, photos and audio on your TV, iPhone, game console, set-top box, streamer etc. TVersity’s product is available for download by end-users and is also available from multiple broadcasters around the world. For example, yes in Israel (DBS) just announced a product called yes Streamer which is a cooperation with TVersity that allows yes subscribers to use their set-top box as a streamer.”

After creating 14 successful investor/entrepreneurial events in Israel, Turkey and Europe, we came to America. BootCamp Ventures, a boutique advisery firm co-founded by Esther Loewy, brought 15 Israeli companies in digital media, information technology and mobile July 12-13 to Boston and New York. Partners include NASDAQ OMX and Mintz Levin. Congratulations to SpeakingPal on the recent launch of its mobile English learning application in Japan! SpeakingPal is a pioneering mobile education company that is the brainstorm of Eyal Eshed, Ariel Velikovxsky and Hernan Garber. The product is co-launched and produced with ETS, the global leader in English testing services and makers of TOEFL and TOEIC exams and offered by IIBC. By teaming up with ETS and IIBC, the strongest players in the English language education sector in Japan, SpeakingPal has made a great initial entry into the Asian market.
