I am pleased to announce that Gopal Lalmalani won the election and is now president/mayor of Oak Brook, Ill. For those unfamiliar with Oak Brook, it is a vibrant commercial center and a premier residential community in the suburbs of Chicago. Several corporations are headquartered in Oak Brook, including McDonald’s Corporation, which has its world headquarters there. Congratulations, Gopal; we wish you the best of luck in your new role!

I’m also very excited to announce that Mahesh Rao published his first book, Front Runners: Lap Your Competition, which features 10 game-changing strategies for total business transformation. It launched May 16 and was sold out on Amazon the day of the launch! Many top leaders from companies such as Cisco, GE, Lockheed Martin, Hilton, SAP, Mitsubishi, Home Depot, 7-Eleven, Office Depot, Broadcom, Informatica and Korn Ferry have found the book invaluable and have endorsed it. Front Runners is a how-to book that shows how industry leaders get ahead and stay there, and how you can apply the same skills to your business and personal life. The book’s down-to-earth lessons can be applied to a wide range of corporate, academic and social arenas. Front Runners’ step-by-step program includes case studies, illustrations, graphs, a glossary and a bibliography.

Mahesh has also started a LinkedIn group called “Transformational Leadership: Frontrunners in Organizations” (which is free). There are close to 10,000 leaders from all over the world joining some interesting discussions around “Business Transformation” and “Leadership.” If interested in joining this group, go to: linkd.in/TransformationalLeadershipGroup. Congratulations, Mahesh!
