EMP-66
Evgeny Kobin and his family are happy to announce — albeit eight months later — the arrival of their third small family member, Alexey, born Sept. 27. Alexey is very proud of his four teeth! We think dad is just as proud.
Sanja Gupta announced the latest addition to his family — Gia, born March 24. She weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces and was 19.9 inches long.
Arthur Yao relocated his family to Beijing, China, and joined hiSoft, a global outsourcing company focused on R&D and IT outsourcing, as vice president of strategic business development. In his new role, Arthur helps companies set up technology operations inside China. His family is back to its roots and enjoying all the spicy food of Beijing. Please let him know if you are traveling to China.

Chris Statham left his position at PWC in May and bought a home in the Buckhead area of Altanta where his wife, Dr. Melissa, took a job at Emory University. Chris pondered retirement for about one second, but ended up joining Invesco, an asset management company. And as if all that change is not enough, Chris took up a ridiculously risky side profession of fly-by-night carry trader. We think he thrives on every risky moment!
Susanne Dawursk left Harley-Davidson to return as interim president at Flowerbooking Inc. and to be part of the team behind Idle Hands Bar “The Rock N Roll Speakeasy,” opening June 8 in Manhattan — just in time for EMP-66 to stop in for a drink during our September New York reunion.
Steve Padgette happened to be at the Jacobs Center in May when he received the e-mail request for class updates, so we were lucky enough to hear from him. Steve attended an Executive in Residence session with the full-time MBA students. We’re guessing he taught them a thing or two.
David Altounian’s daughter, Jessica, graduated (with honors!) from the Gallatin School at New York University in May.
Bret Waters celebrated the graduation of his daughter Lindsey from high school. She will head to the University of Vermont in the fall. On the business front, Bret’s startup, Tivix, closed a second round of venture financing to continue to build out its set of social media apps for nonprofits and socially conscious brands. |
