EMP-38

Mike O’Dell let me know after several years commuting to Philly from St. Charles that he and his family are moving. After three years, the work he and his team have done at Pep Boys is working. Mike is sending his oldest off to college to Virginia Tech in the fall. But at the time of this writing, his toughest decision was who to root for when the Blackhawks faced the Flyers.

Ernest Lucineo took a moment to say that his daughter Payton is on a performance dance team. The team is in the top tier for the 7-year-olds and under. How can anyone resist such enthusiastic young girls?!

While in Charlotte, N.C., this spring, I had dinner with Erick Christensen. Erick, Tina and their kids had relocated to Charlotte a couple of years ago. Erick is at Bank of America and the family is starting to feel settled. On previous trips to Charlotte, our schedules hadn’t meshed, but this time, they did. Erick and I didn’t know each other that well at Kellogg (though I’ve maintained good friendships with some of his study group members), but I was so glad we had a chance to visit. I feel lucky to have had such a delightful evening with a classmate. If you have thought about contacting someone from EMP-38, I’d encourage you to pick up the phone.

Andy Martin and I connected this spring. Andy thought it might be fun to gauge the class’s interest in keeping in touch. We reached out to all our classmates and created a Google Doc spreadsheet with classmates’ information, where you can go and update your contact info. We conducted a survey and sent everyone the results. There did seem to be some interest in brown-bag lunch webinars, so there may be more on that later.

I continue to encourage you to update your info at Kellogg’s alumni website and to encourage other classmates to do the same. By and large, I use the alumni info to send you the e-mails so I fear if your Kellogg info isn’t up to date, I may lose track of you.
