EMP-20
Dan Silvestri writes in: “After graduating from Kellogg, I became a regional manager for Fox Software, which was purchased a year later by Microsoft. I transitioned to Microsoft and held various management positions there and stayed over 10 years, until I retired in 2002.
“As a fun project, I started a website which focused on Door County in Wisconsin, doing reviews of inns, restaurants and more. It caught on and is now in its 11th year! Check it out at DoorCountyNavigator.com. We have several ‘sister’ sites that feed DoorCountyNavigator.com as well, including DoorCountyDining.com, DoorCountyRentalsByOwner.com and Door-County-Camping.com. It's been fun as we continue to do reviews, video and more. People heading to Door County are sure to stop at our site first to do their research and discover where they want to stay, dine and play. In the meantime, I’m still married to my wonderful wife of 28-plus years, and our daughter is a junior in high school, so we have begun looking at colleges!”
Ned Rockwell writes: “It is hard to believe but it has been 20 years since we graduated Kellogg. The Reunion in May turned out to be a great time for me. The lectures were top-notch and the party Saturday night could not have been nicer. Bistro 110 — the class party location – was taken over by Kellogg alums. The food was great and the speeches were short. I had the distinct pleasure of dining with Erica Kantor. We must have talked for at least an hour, reminiscing about the heady days when Kellogg reached the top of the b-school ranks. It was a warm spring night, and my wife and I topped it off with a casual Michigan Avenue walk around the Water Tower.
“Another highlight of Reunion weekend for me was re-connecting with Al Mansfield, one of my group members. Al came from his Cleveland home for the Reunion with his wife and one of his two daughters. They were able to build some college tours and some Chicago sightseeing into the Kellogg trip.
“I have two graduations to celebrate this spring. Our middle child, John, is graduating from Lake Forest High School and will be attending the University of Michigan’s engineering school in the fall. Rachel graduates middle school and can’t wait to get to the high school. Four more years until we’re empty-nesters.
“I would like all EMP-20 alums to note that I created a LinkedIn Group for our class. Go to LinkedIn, search for ‘Kellogg EMP 20,’ and request to join the group. I have tried to invite all EMP-20 alums to join the group, but I don’t have contact information for about 25 of you. The group currently has 12 members, and it would be great if we could get everyone to join. One of Kellogg’s strengths was to teach us how to build great teams and achieve great things through teamwork. We should never forget that our EMP-20 team is still there for support. I look forward to receiving input from all of you regarding how we can create or add value for our teammates.” |
