Zipporah Allen wrote that she moved to Sydney at the end of July. Zip is still with McDonald's but will be in Australia on a two- to three year international assignment. She would love for people to stop by and say "hi" if they are traveling Down Under!
A quick update from Chile: Eduardo Tyszka was offered a position at Principal Financial Group, Chile in December. He is the product manager for the company’s long-term savings products. Eduardo noted that all of the 2007 alumni in the country survived Chile's recent earthquake and aftershocks without injuries to families or major damage to their homes. He also sent appreciation to classmates around the world for expressing their concern. He wrote, “I did my part toward the rebuilding effort by helping to build emergency housing provided by the charity group Un Techo para Chile.”
The Shontz family sent a short note about its growing family. Anthony Shontz writes: “No more babies in the works, and it looks like it will be a while before we move again. We did originally come to Europe on a one-year plan, with hopes of returning to the Bay Area. One year stretched into two, then three. Now it looks like we'll be here for a couple more years. Someday we'll make it back to the Bay Area.”
Nadia Majid accepted a position in digital business development in the international media distribution group at the NBA. She also regularly organizes events around the intersection of law and business in New York. Please get in touch with her if you have topic or speaker ideas or would like to be included.
Nathan Atherly writes in his first alumni update: “I am personally doing well, living now in Mountain View, Calif. My wife Tawni and I have two kids, Sydmey (5) and Logan (2).
“I wanted to also tell you about a startup we are in the process of launching. It would be really wonderful to get the help of the Kellogg community to join and use it. The site is called Repify and it is a portable reputation system. We are starting with helping people sell on Craigslist using their good reputations. The site can be found at Repify.com.”
Abhishek Gangwal and wife Sucheta were blessed with baby boy Nikhil on Dec. 3, weighing in at 6 pounds, 11 ounces. While still based in Houston, the Gangwals have moved into a new house to make room for little Nikhil and his toys. Abhishek and Sucheta welcome any classmates who are in the neighborhood.
Ryan Paulowsky writes: “From a news standpoint, I have a quick nugget. Whitney and I are excited to announce that we welcomed William George Paulowsky to the world on March 6. Despite being four weeks early, he checked in at 7 pounds, 13 ounces and 19.5 inches long. Everyone's doing great and Mary Kiley (3) is a loving big sister.” The Paulowskys live in Atlanta, where Ryan is a manager at McKinsey.
Ashton Koji Samathivathanachai was born on March 8 at 7 pounds, 9 ounces and 20 inches long, to proud but tired parents Keiko Tsumura and Jate Samathivathanachai. Both parents are still proud but even more tired, as the little tyke has proven to be a handful. In May, Jate joined Evercore Partners' San Francisco office from Morgan Stanley where he will be focusing on corporate advisory for the life sciences space.
Shawn Keenan and his wife Jackie welcomed Madelyn Mary Keenan. Madelyn was born on April 21 at 9 pounds, 4 ounces. The Keenans live in Chicago.
In April, Sharlyn and Jon Dreyfus welcomed baby boy Adam. Jon has also changed jobs and moved into the enterprise strategy group at Cisco. Sharlyn is taking a hiatus from working as an attorney to care for Adam. The happy family is living in Palo Alto, Calif., and would love to reconnect if anyone is passing through Silicon Valley.
