Michael Pirron, CEO of Richmond, Va.-based Impact Makers (impactmakers.org), is celebrating the company's No. 2 spot in BusinessWeek magazine's national online contest for "The Most Promising Social Entrepreneurs." See tinyurl.com/BizWkWinner. Impact Makers is a profit and performance-driven competitive social venture. All its profits and significant consulting services go directly to its charitable community partners. Impact Makers secured this No. 2 spot against 25 of the most innovative social enterprises in America today, including nationally known brands like Stonyfield Farm. The BusinessWeek publicity will help the company grow and bring more consultancy contracts, which will make an even bigger difference to charity partner RxPartnership, which provides free pharmaceuticals to uninsured free-clinic patients in Virginia. Well done, Michael and team!
